The Reds will resign Choo if he continues hitting like this. I doubt Ludwick will be there next season so Choo will slide over and make room for Das Wonderkid Hamilton.

Whatever they do, keep Choo away from center. :omg:

I really, really want Ellsbury in a Mets uniform next year. Desperately need a leadoff hitter and anything is an upgrade in the outfield at this point.

Do they have the $$ to pull it off though? The Wilpons lost a bunch in the Madoff mess, and I don't think the Mets collective checkbook has recovered enough yet for them to afford this kind of top level talent.

I could very well be wrong.:2cents:

Great question, I would like to believe they're in good shape. They've done an amazing job of cutting payroll the past 2 years and with a young entertaining crop coming up this year they should see an attendance spike. But I can't say for sure that they'll be spenders.

Indeed, it is me. And thank you for the invite. However, there was a reason I was staying away from the daily thread on CBS, and as that reason made the trek here, I will continue on and live more in threads less traveled.

I just know they are still paying Johan Santana a lot, and now, at the moment, for NOTHING. This is a situation to follow all year, as the Mets have to eventually "show their hand" as far as their financial situation, and that will speak to which direction they are headed, both next year, and for the foreseeable future.

Luckily he's off the books after this year. They did give Wright a monster extension and they bought out Jason Bay, so there are some signs of money being there.

Indeed. And hello Mr. Jets. I saw you here yesterday, but it was on this board daily thread, which I am avoiding. As the subject matter was your avatar and "whos hotter", I'm sure that was a fun time for awhile.

Still, I can't help but think of.....

"Hit me again Chris, and this time, put some STANK on it".

I like the NFL. But, as I don't live and brethe it like I do baseball, I don't share my thoughts an opinions, as I think that should be left to people who know what they are talking about, and not just to hear themselves speak, and feel somehow important because of it.

They're paying Santana, Jason Bay and Bobby Bonilla a lot this year, and all for nothing. That's all off the books after this year and supposedly 2014 will be the time to spend some money. I have to admit, I wouldn't mind seeing Ellsbury.
