Mike Silver is supposedly close to Hue Jackson and actually spoke to him late last night. According to MS, an offer was never made and the 49ers were still deciding.

Just plain stupid. He is not going to come here and frankly that makes no sense anyway. Why would we want a burned out 70 year old coach taking on a rebuild project? He isn't going to be around long enough to see it through anyway. If he did come here, I predict it would turn out like Seifert's final years in Carolina. The team will have a couple of 8-8 seasons, Coughlin will throw his hands up and retire and we will be right back where we started from.
