I couldnt agree with you anymore. Even if that bullshit belief was actually true, you would have to be some kind of fucked up piece of shit to destroy that many lives so you have have 30 virgins.

Everybody can hate on Bush and his war, but terror woke up a sleeping giant that day, and I for one am thankful for every effort that was ever made post 9/11.

I dont discriminate against any religion, I dont care what people tend to believe, in my opinion everybody is believing in the same thing under different circumstances, but what kind of fucked up religion leads people to believe that murder leads to virgins?

I'll never forget, and I hope this country wakes the hell up from this liberal nightmare sooner than later.

I had no problem with going to war after 9/11. My problem was & still is we went after the wrong country. Hussein had nothing to do with 9/11. Going into Afghanistan was fine but we made a big mistake by not going into Pakistan.

notion that 30 virgins awaited them in reward for doing such a heinous act

My God only offers me sloppy seconds. I knew I shouldn't have given all of that money to the Church of Sutters. :(

And a big thumps up to the 343. May they rest well.

Yeah, I misspoke, I should have added to my virgins comment: "and in the name and for the glory of Allah." Many atrocities have been committed in history for "God" or "Allah" or whatever you want to call it. "Holy war" is a pervertedly sick concept, no matter what the religion.

And by "liberal nightmare", do you mean the nightmare of wasting our precious lives and money in Iraq while the real perpetrators in Afganistan, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia largely go ignored and are still alive?

---Oh, and rep to Chris for passionately speaking his mind, whether we agree or not, one of the many freedoms we enjoy from this great country of ours.

We should have fought Saudi Arabia. Just look at the list of terrorists. Where they came from. Who provides money for terrorist camps.
Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran are just pawns. Look for the root of the problem.

But of course, Saudi Arabia is our "friend". Who needs enemies when we have friends like this.

I agree but that's the last thing Bush was going to do. He & the Saudi's were best of buddies. We needed their Oil & he wasn't about to attack them. It would have been the right thing to do but it was never going to happen. Bush needed a scapegoat & Saddam was his man. Unfortunately our government bought into the BS about WMD.

OK Tox. I will wait for a few others. IMO it went from a tribute to the swamp but we will see.

Not that I really care about this or any other thread being stickied but how did this turn into the swamp?

The thread did change as it went along and I thought about deleting my post I posted last night. However I figured by the time I posted it the thread had already changed.

While it appears there may be some disagreements in this everyone still has been respectful with each other. In the past few weeks there have been a number of deletions and locked threads even though nothing too bad IMO had been going on in them.

We are allowed to disagree aren't with each other aren't we?

Ok comeds I will leave it for a while and you're right we are entitled to disagree. But when it gets out of hand like the swamp lets not forget thats why most of us are here and not there.

We will see how it goes.

I really dont care if its stickied or not. I just wondered why it was referred to it as swamp-like when I didn't think anyone did anything wrong in it.

My only concern is that it turned into a tribute to 9/11 to a shit fight over who was at fault. Like I said i will leave it go but it seems that people like to point fingers even a topic that was a tribute to a terrible disaster. Why are people compelled to do that and then can't seem to figure out why we can't get along?

We are more divided as a country because there is no compromise. People wonder why? We should work together and work together and that goes for both sides.

Im not going to debate in this thread, but I believe the execution of Saddam Hussein alone was very positive for everybody, especially the people of Iraq.

But when it gets out of hand like the swamp lets not forget thats why most of us are here and not there.

Arguments in threads, civil like this one, or nasty like in the swamp were not the reasons I left. I could care less if people argue all the time all day long as long as they do it in the proper place. If Heckyll and Jekyll (yeah I'm old) in the swamp would have carried on their argument/courtship in the same thread or few threads all the time I wouldn't have cared at all. But they took it into every other thread on the board. That was my problem, the constant thread jacking by them and others.

If me and Beantownmaniac start arguing in a Bruins-Habs thread and every day return to call each other names for a month in that thread I think we should be allowed to. Now if we follow each other around and mess up other topics I can see it becoming a problem.

At the swamp I was far more bothered by the random deletions of posts and threads and random bannings than anything else. I don't want to see that happen here. I do know that wasn't what was happening in this particular case, this was just being unstickied.

Im not going to debate in this thread, but I believe the execution of Saddam Hussein alone was very positive for everybody, especially the people of Iraq.

Time will tell. If that country is stable in 10 years without thousands of our troops there you will be proven right. If its worse then maybe not.

I will say no matter what the future holds I don't think it looks good for a country that likes to tout itself as an example for all others to invade another country under false pretenses or bad intel.

I definitely agree, the War on religion is just a hypocritical mess to me. One time I got into a heated argument right in the middle of church(yep my attitude knows no boundaries!!) A guest speaker came in and was talking about missions, and how important it was to go into foreign Countries, and explain to them that being a Muslim is wrong, and the only way we could save them was by getting them to accept Jesus in their hearts. He held up a map and which looked to me like he was strategically planning a war. Pointing out which Countries needed the most "help"

I told him that, that was complete bullshit. I told him I would never take part in such ignorance. I would never disrespect someone for their beliefs, and that if the world was more tolerant of other beliefs then the world would be a much better place.

He then told me that I wasnt doing my job as a Christian. I laughed at him.

No by liberal nightmare I mean the people that are constantly apologizing for everything we do. Constantly attacking and taking shots at the U.S. every chance they get. Trying to turn this Country against everything its fought to be. Socialist nonsense like "free healthcare"

Then you have the people that claim 9/11 was a setup by our Government. How sick do you have to be? or the even sicker, the people that think we deserved what happened on 9/11.

I cant tell you how much that pisses me off. We deserved it. Who's we? If we deserved it then how come we all didnt pay for it. What did all those people who died, and their family and friends do to deserve this? Oh I guess they were just being Americans. They needed to be taken down a notch.

1985 accepted me into the states I love and where the air I breath is free.

My Country comes first, I know were not perfect, and mistakes have been made. Regardless my Country comes first, and I will never apologize for being an American. The day I start taking shots at my Country is the day I forfeit my pride as an American, and I will leave. I really couldnt careless if every other Country on earth hates Americans. I will never apologize, never. If you dont like it, then please immigrate to whichever Country you feel is better. Do us all a favor and just leave.
