This league is on sleeper. Looked at their rankings and just using the picks he would be giving me I could pick Mixon,Mahomes and A. Jones for my 1.05 which they have Kamara and McCaffery right after him. Full PPR league. Think I would give Kamara for that group of players.

Accepted the deal.:hope:
missed thgis good deal...........be careful of jones. injuries, already said they r open to timeshare or another back. GB doesnt trust him for whatever reason

So that guy has two picks in the top 10 now? 1.5 and 1.10.

He's off to a great start.

Kamara and Mixon. Whew.

Yeah then no picks in round 2,3 or 4. That will hurt.

I don't think so. Dynasty gives you tons of chances to get those types of guys. There's undervalued old guys every season to fill those depth roles.

You feel it's wise to build with old guys? Which old guys still available in the 5th or later?

Well let's use history instead of trying to predict this year. For example, you could have added Fitz for near free for the last 5 years. 3 of those would have been great. It's different each year, but there is always someone trying to cash in an old guy.

Overall, I wouldn't be afraid of not having any tier 2 players, because I can develop them or get tier 2 old guys at good prices. But I'll never get to add a franchise back or young top 5 WR except in the first round the first year. I'd rather be top heavy.

I actually mostly agree with you... although I would change the OLD GUY to boring veteran guy... there are a lot of players that put up the numbers, but you just don't want because they don't have the ceiling...

But when you go top heavy, you don't mind having the Low ceiling guys, because you know you have the studs elsewhere...

Nice to own a pair of studs ( unless one or both get hurt) but it's difficult to surround them with a winning roster by simply finding a group of undervalued players IMO.

Some other team traded the 1.08 and 8.05 for 2.01 and 3.12
This is going to be a wild league.

that's a terrible trade for the 1-8 guy... 2-1 is too close to 1-8 to only get an 8th rounder... and 2-1 is going to be a similar player to 1-8 anyway...

That's a good point and a better way of describing what I was trying to say. There are low ceiling vets that can be great value too since everyone wants to stash higher upside youth.

Yeah that's a bad one giving up a 3rd rounder for almost nothing. Guess he sees a big drop off after the top 7-8.

hitting on a rookie from this year's class before they even get drafted would be a HUGE win in a startup dynasty.

How early do you dip into that well though without knowing where these guys fall?
So many seem dependent on landing spot for their short and/or long term opportunity

well since we're speaking in hypotheticals, let's lay it out, according to FFCalculator's current ADP for a dynasty start up, assuming chalk picks (ya know, its hypothetical, so why not?)
Dynasty Average Draft Position (ADP) 12-team (2019)

Harold has , #'s 15, 19, 29, 34, 38, 41, (assuming my horrid math is accurate, but close enough regardless)
That is--
15- Mixon
19- Kelce ( but more likely Allen, Digs, Cooks or Michel)
29- AJ Green (personally I'd bet he'd take Mahommes ADP 30)
34- TY Hilton (A. Jones 35?)
38 - C. Davis (Lindsey 40?)
41.- DJ. Moore (Kittle 43?)

The other dude-
5- Kamara
10- Ty. Hill (Evans, Juju, Chubb?)
58 - Watkins (Fuller, OJ Howard, Mack)
63- N'Keal Harry (likely not, but RW, Penny, Henry)
68- N'Joku (Mayfield, Kirk)
77- Ebron (seems to be a run on TE's in the mid rounds, shocker..Ajayi perhaps?)
82- James White (Baldwin, Marvin Jones?)

I know which team I'd prefer, and Kamara ain't on it

Draft hasn't started and 5 trades been made involving 10 out of 12 teams. Wild!

I'm glad you took the deal. You are going to be much better off with all that depth you'll have. And nobody has mentioned this part, but because you have all that depth, you'll be able to take some chances on guys in the later rounds since you'll have so much depth. Since you have the 6 picks in rounds 2-4, I would certainly try and get Kittle with one of those picks in the 3rd if he's still there. Kelce is going to be 30 this year and Ertz will be 29 so even though they are elite, I would really try and get Kittle and lock down that position for a lot of years to come. Just my two cents though. Having an elite tight end is such an advantage over the other teams it's hard to pass on.
