Game Thread: Nebrasketball @ Michigan State

If Nebraska plays that kind of Defense, and plays with that kind of confidence.....we could make a run in the B1G tourney.

I really think we're gonna be a 5 seed in that tournament. I think we're gonna jump Ohio State.

Either way, as the 5 seed we would obviously get a first round game against #12 and as a 6 seed it would be #11.

I'm sure guys will be happy to hear that Creighton beat 'Nova again. The state of Nebraska went 2-0 against top ten mens basketball teams today.

Has anyone begun to try and comprehend the idea that Nebraska has a legitimate shot to win the B1G tourney?

We actually did that prior to winning @ Michigan St. being that it will be on a neutral floor. It is even more of a possibility after today.

I've also crunched the #'s at the remote possibility of finishing as high as #4 in the conference standings the way everyone's schedules lay out.

Current #3 Iowa (8-4)is @ Indiana, home against Wisconsin, and @ #9 Michigan St.
Current #4 Wisconsin (8-5) is @ #16 Iowa and @ Nebraska.
Current #5 Ohio St (7-6) is home against #9 Michigan St
Current #6 Nebraska (6-6) is home against #21 Wisconsin.

Obviously Nebraska needs to take care of business against Penn St (4-9), Purdue (5-7), @ Illinois (3-10), Northwestern (5-7), and @ Indiana (4-8).

All coin flip games, but Nebraska could be peaking right now.

Try to wrap your head around this....

Nebraska's next 4 games are Penn State (PBA), Purdue (PBA), @ Illinois, Northwestern (PBA).

It is absolutely not foolish to believe we could win all 4 of those. If we did.......we would be 10-6 at that point........18-10 overall.

It blows. my fucking. mind.

Just because we got that win doesn't mean that chip disappears. Keep it on there and keep playing like psychos on Defense.

We cannot lose at home if we play Defense like that.

Hell, our next 5 games are against the bottom 5 teams in the B1G.

It is such an optimistic time to be a Husker fan right now.

From Feb 13th

Nebraska fits the perfect mold of a team that could storm into that Tournament and mess everything up.

It's a team that's picking up steam, growing confidence, and not everyone takes completely serious yet.

Put them on a neutral court and anything could happen.

They'd need someone else to knock off one of the two Michigan teams, and probably have to knock one of them off themselves. But not out of the realm of possibilities.

Georgia came out of nowhere and won the SEC a few years ago.

I still say the road win at Northwestern put these guys over the top.

They were a different team when they came home and played Illinois.

Agreed on that Northwestern win being the turning point.

I haven't been this happy about Husker sports in so many years that I don't know how to really react to it right now.

I guess I got a little excited when Taylor Martinez was running past everyone for 400 yards a game to start his Freshman season.

What we have here though is a whole team coming together.

I haven't been this happy about Husker sports in so many years that I don't know how to really react to it right now.

Nebraska has a coach (Miles) that builds programs, not just gets by maintaining them.

I seriously instantly thought about Bo today after this game got over.

You know he watched the game.

Deep down this has to make him realize that he hasn't accomplished jack shit in reality since he's been here.....when a guy with a funny personality can just step in and get one of the hardest road wins in the entire nation already in his 2nd season.

This team is insane. I really wish Ray would get on his horse tho. I mean if he even hit half his shots this game would have been a blowout. To go on the road to MSU and not just play with the big boys they kinda kicked there ass I would say we out played them in almost every aspect.

I know some people are looking forward to next season but I really want to see how far this team can go.
