Go back and look at who Nebraska has played to keep that streak alive. BYU is more than capable of winning if you look at Bo's history.

If that was the case, you wouldn't see me making a prediction with Nebraska winning. Go back and look at the prediction threads to see that I have predicted Nebraska winning the majority of their games, or probably more than they actually did win.

Also, if you'll open your eyes, you'll see with Bo's erratic history, ANY team Nebraska plays that has a few decent athletes, will have a better shot at beating Nebraska than they should have.

Look at this year's schedule to see that there are quite a few games which are highly losable if the turnover and bad head coaching decisions aren't kept to a minimum.

The serious teams you speak of were down when we played them. Examples... FSU in 1986 was down, and WVU was down in 1994. Other than that, most of the teams played were lower tier teams...

I'm not saying we were cowardly, but I recall the chance Nebraska had of playing Clemson at their place back in 1997 and Osborne was afraid to play them because in his own words, we may have a chance to play them in a national title game! I don't know if you were around then lol, but Nebraska had a good enough team to beat Clemson in Death Valley in 1997.

Of course now a days, with our present head coach, we best continue to play the lower tier teams that first game.

The 2015 team is going to be very experienced on both offense and defense.

QB Armstrong will be a senior, Stanton. The RBs will be Newby, Taylor, plus. The wide receivers are Westerkamp, Moore, plus. The O line is getting chemistry together this year.

On defense, the huge loss will be Randy Gregory, unless he stays. The front seven will all be very experienced. The D backfield is being broken in this year.

Punter will still be Foltz.

Long snapper, Gabriel Miller heals hopefully. I know back injuries can be very bad. My neighbor is a young man and has had three serious back surgeries. I am much older than him but I always offer to do the heavy lifting for him and his wife.

Let's wait until we see the results after this season to have an idea about the 2015 season.

To be honest with you, I actually have some optimism for this season, but I don't know how anyone can't see the pitfalls that Nebraska faces this year. I won't mention a worse case scenario, but the best case scenario would be a one loss season before the Big title game or bowl game.

I probably shouldn't have even made any seasonal predictions because of a few posters here who call me nothing but negative. I certainly don't want to bust their bubbles!

That is a huge concern for me at this point in time. No one really thinks about how critical that is until there's only an inadequate long snapper available.

I don't understand the lack of quality long snappers in the country. It is not hard to learn, it is not difficult to coach and you don't need to be some monster athlete to master the skill.

Back in the mid/late 90's I had 7 kids that I had coached and taught the long snap to who were the snapper for their respective Omaha metro (Class A) area schools. All at the same time. I can teach it to anyone.....

But I can't do it. Go figure.
