I realize Cethan Carter didn't make the Michigan St trip, but another season that once again I'm disappointed with the lack of use of Nebraska's Tight End position in the passing game.

Are Bo/Beck ever going to realize how much they can compliment the run game?

I caught that. It was toward the sideline and I was happy as shit to see it.

I'm more referring to the tight end over the middle where there isn't a defender around for 8 yards.

I don't know if Back has that play in his book. Every other O-Coordinator seems to. They have since I was a child.

We used to hit Reed over the middle when Taylor was playing.

Actually that connection was vital in our comeback win at Sparty 2 years ago.

I remember it being used a 'couple' of times 2 years ago, but not near as much as it should have been.

So why does it appear to have been abandoned in 2013 & 2014?

I can understand last season because they were all young (as I pointed out in one of my first posts). However this year they're a year older and have been in the system a bit longer.

That Nebraska only has one senior and one junior in the position says a lot about what Bo thought about the importance of a receiver tight end 4-5 years ago.

It's as if they don't see a value in them. Nebraska should have a star tight end that is a threat the defense needs to consider on every play.

I have been wanting Beck to use the TEs and "FBs" ever since Klyer Reed was a freshman. To say Reed was undused is a understatement.

IMO it falls on the oline not giving TA enough time in the pocket to go threw his progression. Coupled that with a lack of QB development by the coaching staff its a wonder how we can recruit top level talent at all. Any and all success is from Tommy's talent not from the coaching staff
