For the game tonight it says

Stanford - 23
Washington - 15

FINAL

Stanford......13
Washington..17

Warshington 20-13

Did ya put a 7 point swing into your program for homefield? More times than not it makes things a bit more accurate for gambling purposes. In other words whatever you think the score will be using general stats, add and subtract 7 respectively.

If you had then your score would have been...

Stanford - 16
Washington - 22

Winner

Yea, I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to do that exactly. Some venues aren't home field advantages like others......so I can't just really give 7 points to every home team.

I almost need to go through and assign a certain value to each venue.......but then that brings human opinion into the poll, and the point of making this ranking system is to completely eliminate any hype or human bias.

My only solution that I can think of would be to separate the stats between away and home games. This way I'd be evaluating teams based on how they play away vs how they play at home, and the stats would reflect that individual team's advantage that they have at home.

That is what I'll do. It's gonna take a little bit of work to code all that logic though.

If this could possibly have been made...some MIT asshat would have already done it and become a millionaire in vegas by now.

Those Vegas linesmakers do have programs that help them predict the lines.........

The program I'm trying to make is essentially the same thing. There are games that turn out to be upsets and things as sech, but more often than not, two teams are going to perform against each other the way they've been performing during the season........especially in the previous couple of weeks.

There is a certain level of predictability in all sports when you really break down the stats and understand why teams are succeeding and why they are not. Hell, there are teams that go for 400 yards through the air but only score 6 points......why? Because they aren't efficient enough on Offense to sustain drives like other teams are en sech.

Before I ever started putting together all of the code and everything for this, I took a look back at the past few seasons and noticed the correlation between overall efficiency on Offense and Defense, and the points that teams were coming away with and/or allowing.

It all matches right up. It's simply about finding which teams are the most and least efficient.
