I finished putting together all of the logic for my ranking and game projection program that I'm building, and I tested it out on the game this weekend.

As imagined, it predicts not a lot of Offensive output. Here is a bit of the projections made by this outstandingly accurately amazing predicting robot:

Nebraska:
Rushing Yards - 167
Passing Yards - 207

Wisconsin:
Rushing Yards - 175
Passing Yards - 111

Final Score:
Nebraska - 24
Wisconsin - 17

mind telling us how it works without giving away all your secrets?

Basically I have collected all of the stats of all 124 teams in the FBS, and I'm attempting to cross-compare every single team to every other single team in the country, and then calculate how efficient each team is Offensively, Defensively, and on Special Teams, and how each of those translates into points.

So, for instance, points per yard gained rushing would be 1 of the many stats used.

There are of course a lot of other stats I'm using and will be tweaking over the next few weeks. Right now I don't figure the program can be as accurate as it will be 4 weeks from now, beings that OOC schedules can really pad the stats.

My rankings will rank all 124 teams. It's gonna be pretty cool when I get it all coded!

Oh, and the rankings will be simple. The program will take each and every team and simulate a game between them and all other 123 teams in the FBS. The team who is projected to win the most games will be at the top of the rankings, and so on and so forth.

I'm liquidating all assets and betting everything I fucking have on Wisconsin @ 13.5 then.

I seriously see no way we beat Wisconsin by 2 TDs unless we come out airing the ball out.

I just don't see Pelini allowing Beck to do that though. I think we will see a lot of running in this game by both teams.

By the way, stats vs. FCS schools are not used in my program......

If I would have included the two FCS games, Nebraska would be picked to win by a lot more.

I like numbers en sech.........and I love stats.

I've been wanting to make one of these programs for a long time now. It obviously isn't going to predict the exact score of any game, but it should give a good idea of which team should come out on top if both teams execute.

I've looked really hard at this game and went back and looked again and again.

It's the first game of it's type this season and will set a standard for expectations on about 3 or 4 other B1G 10 games this season where the match-ups will be very similar.

With that being said, I'm going with....

NU 37-16

If we throw thee ball a lot, I agree.

Jest don't know if Bo has thee balls to do it.

If we get conservative and run too much, I don't see us averaging a TD a quarter

Not a lot...Defensively Wisconsin is solid on their front seven, but they have to respect Bell and Enunwa who are arguably the best receiver duo in the B1G. I don't see them having the benefit of stacking the box. NU should rush for 200+

Offensively Wisconsin will be able to run the ball between the tackles somewhat, but at the same time NU will be able to stack the box and are traditionally a bend but don't break defense. Wisconsin's QB is going to have to find success in the pocket and NU's secondary is better than many think.

I think NU plays up to their potential this week and saves the traditional egg laying (can't get out of their own way) event for later.

I do.

Nebraska's got a damn good offense. There is firepower everywhere. That 13th ranked rushing defense is gonna have it's hands full.

On another note..Taylor may still have ugly form but his release is much faster and more accurate than his fresh/soph seasons. He carries himself in a more mature manner and I think he has the respect of his teammates.

Add to that... NU's receivers are physical, improved at their routes, catch balls that hit their hands and Burkhead/Abdullah have good hands on short routes.
