NYJ RT Morgan Mosses signs with NE.
He's a versatile lineman.
He's a versatile lineman.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Davis in the second round (63rd overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. Davis was the second cornerback drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2018 after second round pick (53rd overall) M. J. Stewart and also was the ninth cornerback drafted. The Buccaneers acquired this pick during a trade where they sent their 2018 third round (56th overall) pick to the New England Patriots in exchange for a third round (63rd overall) and fourth round pick (117th overall). The Patriots went on to draft cornerback Duke Dawson while the Buccaneers used their selections on Carlton Davis and safety Jordan Whitehead, who both were let starters and started in Super Bowl LV.CB Carlton Davis reportedly signing with Patriots
$20 mil.He said he did not want to leave Tampa. Left money on the table to stay......
That's not funny!Either Shuster or Agholor...
There is another update that will make you happy I suspectOk, time to catch my breath.
NE signs:
Landry, a stud OLB/DE hybrid. We're going to enjoy watching him, Barrmore and White get after the QB.
OT Morgan Mosses a versatile veteran lineman who has played all across the line. He's not the answer to all the problems but a nice pick up that strengthens the line day 1.
ILB Spillmane who's a tackling machine. Not a thumper just a solid tackler. This should really help the middle where there were so many issues last year.
CB Carlton Davis at 6'-1' who can hold down his side of the field while Gonzo shuts down teams #1.
Solid B grade from me thus far. Totally unexpected I must say.
Maybe the D can get off the field once in a while now. Wouldn't that be nice. Give Maye a few more opportunities.
Let's keep it going Mike. You said you'd be active and you weren't tell lies.
Yep, I couldn't keep up.There is another update that will make you happy I suspect
Shit I am with you, way to many threads about this.If we could only do this on 4 threads instead of 3...
I wasn't sure about the Carlton Davis signing...But after reading this I LIKE it!!!
Instant grade: Patriots sign Carlton Davis to 3-year, $60 million deal
Bernd Buchmasser: The Patriots knew they needed a running mate to pair with All-Pro Christian Gonzalez, and Davis will be just that for them. While he did end the 2024 season prematurely due to a jaw fracture, he is a quality addition and complements Gonzalez’s play style well. | Grade: A
Brian Hines: Davis played one of the highest rates of man coverage in Detroit (where Terrell Williams was on staff) last year and has been a productive player on the ball throughout his career. He should be a near perfect complement opposite of Christian Gonzalez in New England’s secondary.| Grade: A
Matt St. Jean: Carlton Davis is a high-end CB2 with the right skill-set to play across from Christian Gonzalez. He consistently has good production when teams throw the ball his way with 84 passes defended in his career. He also played with new Patriots DC Terrell Williams in Detroit last year. | Grade: A
Pat Lane: Davis should give the Patriots a lockdown corner on the other side of Gonzo. Experience with Terrell Williams is an added bonus as well. Corner was a sneaky need for the Patriots, and Davis should fill that need nicely. | Grade: A
With Davis in the fold, the Patriots now have eight cornerbacks under contract. He is joining Christian Gonzalez as well as Marcus Jones, Alex Austin, Marcellas Dial Jr., Isaiah Bolden, Miles Battle and D.J. James.
