I will say I would bet against a Texans victory almost assuredly this week.

The Chargers were clearly not ready and have to reevaluate what they have in Herbert and Jimmy.

Reid and the Chiefs, well rested, are a completely different animal and of course have not faltered in the playoffs for some time now.

I have to disagree with you on the Chargers.

Herbert had a tough game.

But this team overachieved tremendously this season. They really don’t have any offensive playmakers beyond rookie Ladd McConkey.

Not sure what the Vegas totals were on this team before the season, but pretty sure they were projected to be a bottom 5 team after losing all of their top weapons from the past.

Draft a WR to compliment McConkey in the top 2 rounds, maybe invest in some Oline help and this team could be really good next year.

Herbert is no Burrow or Mahomes, but he is definitely an above average starter.

Based on recent games I would say the Texans have a chance, but you can’t bet against the luck of the Chiefs, not in the cold against this team.
I know you’re a betting man, Vegas clearly anticipates closer games on Sunday but 8.5 for both games today? I’d probably take the points, night game I’m guessing to be a shootout and last team to have possession wins.

That’s why I don’t bet though, because I can also see a scenario in both games with the home team winning by 10 or so.

Did they overachieve or just have a good schedule and beat the teams they were supposed to beat and not much else

Yeah the points is likely the way to go. Teams that are over a td favorite are on a big run though winning the game wise.

Yeah some fair points there, I wasn’t really taking into account it being Harbaugh’s first year there I suppose.

My prediction of the Chargers winning that game clouded my judgement in some ways because Stroud was regressing some this season and I expected the Chargers to win, not easily but win.

The Texans completely dismantled them in basically every category but that might be more of a testament to them getting back on track more than anything else.

That was a weird game to me. The Chargers looked good in the first quarter but they didn’t get it in the end zone. They could have been up pretty big but the Texans hung around. I’ve never been a Jim Harbaugh fan but I think it’s pretty apparent he is going to be successful there.

I mean, I enjoyed it... :heh:

That said, I agree that collapse was definitely unexpected. After a while the Bolts looked like they couldn't do a damn thing right. Agree with coach when he was talking about receiving options. Three picks pretty much tell the story there...

As far as Herbert goes, meh. He's good, but hardly upper echelon. Guess we'll see if he can get the Chargers a title with better pieces around him if the brain trust can manage that...

Nitpicking but I think I was 4 because he threw 3 all season and then had 4 in that game which was wild. Lol

Either way, can’t be throwing like that in the playoffs and expect victory
Yes, you are nitpicking...:mad2:

When no one is watching baseball in 20 years except the few 60 plus year olds who cling desperately to the sport, we can look at the economics of the game being a big factor, no other teams can't spend like LA etc and with baseball being so regional it will slowly die off in all but about 5 cities as the population who still watches it dies off.

The deferred contracts is a terrible loophole that small market teams simply cannot afford to commit to.

And? Small market teams have won World Series before. They typically have to do things like spend a bunch of money for 2-3 years, get their World Series, then have a fire sale and bottom out for a few years.

They can also move like the A's are doing.

And lol @no one watching baseball in 20 years.

My son is 9 and he doesn't have a single friend who gives a shit about MLB. My step son is 16, same deal.

I teach elementary school.

Baseball is definitely a far distance behind basketball and football in popularity.

But there absolutely are plenty of kids still playing and following the sport. And for a lot of the kids who play, they are all in and don’t really play any other sports.
