It’s basically over.

He is more likely to be out of the league entirely within the next 2 years than he is to start another NFL game.

It speaks volumes that his hometown team that drafted him in the 1st round just last year would outright release him after week 16.

His toxic presence in the locker room isn’t worth waiting 1 more week then trying to trade him because they knew they weren’t getting anything in return.

He probably gets signed by somebody as a 3rd stringer or practice squad guy, but even that isn’t a given.
You plan on being here the next 2-3 years? We can place a wager.

No reason Haskins can't find a home when guys like Ryan Finley, Jeff Driskel, Brett Hundley, Chris Streveler (Cards), Garrett Gilbert, Nate Sudfeld, Sean Mannion, Blaine Gabbert, Ryan Griffin, and John Wolford are on rosters.

Agreed. But also to Tlance point how he behaves and his attitude will determine whether he has a 10 year career or 3.

I agree but also think at 23 he can turn things around. Being released could open his eyes like nothing else could.....being released is way worse than being benched.....

Haskins fucked up, no other way to look at it. But his days in Washington were numbered before his mistakes. From the moment RR got the job he didn't want him.

Now his overall immaurity has played a big part in the bad decisions he's made recently. But why should he have had any faith in a franchise that already gave up on him?

If given a second chance I'd think he'll learn from his mistakes. Gotta remember that RR not only demoted him. He put him on the inactive list.

Yes, there is a reason though.

He is a locker room cancer.

What is the wager?

He will get another chance to be on somebody’s roster. But the only way he starts another NFL game is if the QB or QBs ahead of him get hurt.

If you want to bet on Haskins being somebody’s QB1 in the future, then name the terms.

He isn't going to be out of the League in the next 2-3 years.....you said that and I definitely disagree.

I think you'd win this bet. If it was become a legit starter again I'd say no but just start 1 more game?

I hope it does open his eyes.

But even that won’t change the fact that he is a terrible QB who can’t read defenses.

That would be the case if he wasn't also an idiot. That violation of Covid protocols that he just got busted on? It's his 2nd offense.

There have also been a lot of questions about his work ethic.

Matt Barkley and some of the guys you mentioned may not be more talented than Haskins...but they're a lot smarter and that goers a long way...especially when you're talking about backup quality players.

If he starts a game isn't he QB1 that day?

Alright, give me some odds then.

I say he is out of the NFL entirely by the start of 2023 season.

And for that reason, I'd say there are likely other things that we don't know about about that led them to make this decision.

You want me to post the stats of some of the backups in the League I already listed? They can't read defenses either and that's why they are backups but they are still in the League.

And I realize he's got an attitude problem but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt......being released has surely opened his eyes and he will need to look at the man in the mirror to stay employed. I just think he's way too young to give up on him.

If Matt Barkey and Chase Daniel can be in the NFL.....no reason why Haskins can't. That's just a few off the top of my head.

He may be in the league but days of starting is over

No. Not QB1 for a day. QB1

Is Taylor Heinecke a QB1?

He probably starts for the WFT on Sunday
I doubt he does. I think they released Haskins because they know Smith is close to being 100%. No way they release Haskins going with Heinicke as their only QB on the roster.

OK, but this means you moved the goal posts......went from will never start another game to needs to be QB1 for a team. I don't think he'll be the latter in next 2-3 years barring injury so agree with you there.
