"After two days of providing often conflicting information, investigators said that a school district police officer was not in the school when 18-year-old gunman Salvador Ramos arrived around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, and, contrary to their previous reports, the officer had not confronted Ramos outside the building.

Instead, Ramos entered the building ”unobstructed” through an apparently unlocked door, said Victor Escalon, regional director for the Texas Department of Public Safety. Local police officers entered the building four minutes later but were driven back after exchanging fire with the gunman, he said."


So they got there 4 minutes after him attempted to deal with him and then were driven back and allowed him to slip into a classroom full of children?

I mean...come on man. That's indefensible.

Soto is like a top 5 player arguably and young. I would be shocked if he was traded.

So would I. But from the report, the Nats may be looking to start over. There aren't many, if any, players left from their World Series team. They wouldn't be the first team to blow it up shortly after winning a World Series.

The Dodgers have one of, if not the, deepest farm systems in baseball. I would expect that the number of quality prospects they could get from the Dodgers for someone that young and talented would be significant.

Like I said, Boras says he's not going anywhere and I haven't seen or heard of any comments from the Dodgers or Nats.

Right now, not worth getting excited or bothered about (depending on perspective).

But probably worth keeping an eye on.

They were definitely chicken shits. And I completely get the notion “it’s different when you’re there”, I’m not saying I’d have kicked in the door like some movie and then turned into John Wick… but for fuck’s sake… sitting around making a plan while kids are being blasted seems ludicrous.

I agree to a point. I checked out on video games when everything moved on from Sega Genesis which was all cartoon stuff. Video games are so much more realistic now. My son is 25, so before I buy video games for the grandsons, I ask him if it's appropriate.

The bigger problem, imo, is letting them play for hours at a time with no break.

At that point, it’s too late though. The grandfather said that he and his wife had no idea he even bought the guns.
