Jay Wright is just 60?

I wonder if he tests the NBA waters in a year or 2 if retirement bores him......or the wife tells him he needs to get outta the house.

To Philly if Doc is let go? Que the inevitable Lakers rumor...

Mid-range? What are you talking about? A 3rd WR just got 18 million per season. That has completely thrown the pay scale into a tizzy.

Tyreek is averaging $30M per year. $18M is relatively close to mid-tier.

Kirk led the Cardinals in receptions, targets, yardage, and was 2nd in TDs. He was clearly the #2 receiver behind the (injured) Hopkins. Same number of receptions and 1 less TD than Deebo, btw.

The Browns fucked up this Mayfield situation, trashing him in the media.....no wonder no teams have been rushing to trade for him.

LOL.
I guess never mind only 8-9 teams can fit him under the cap and most of those teams have their guy and/or are tanking.....oh, also only 1 year of control of him?

Not sure how the Browns trashed him.

Saying he is immature and they wanted an adult killed his trade value it appears.

LOL.
Did you ever hear someone on the Browns say this and/or why they said it?

Just as likely they were asked if they'd use their 1st round pick on a QB and that was their answer.......reporters know they can report it as they did and people like you will eat it up like you did.

Meh. $30M is just what they make you think. He has no guaranteed salary in 24,25 and 26.

Cap Numbers
22 - $6.48M
23 - $31.2M
24 - $24.86M
25 - $28.03
26 - $50M

You think they are really paying him $50M in 2026 or even $28M in 2025. They will restructure before that. You take the first 3 years and he is making $21M/year, even adding in 2025 that is still $22.5M. The Kirk contract is pretty much spread out over all the years and still has dead cap of $10M and $5M in 24 & 25, still not bad but...huge overpay. Now it could workout and Kirk could be very productive but these kind of moves usually don't workout.

23 - $21.5M
24 - $21.5M
25 - $21.5M

No it doesn't, the reasons I gave up above are more important.

Yes and no. Baker Mayfield is, at the least, a starting quality quarterback in the NFL, yet teams are dragging their feet. Considering the premium placed on the position, that make it appear that something ain't right. Those comments from the Browns FO certainly don't help his trade value.

To be fair to the Browns, it's not as if Baker hasn't contributed to the perception about him. Teams typically want the quarterback to lead the team. If that's not their personality, then they need to not be a distraction. Baker hasn't shown himself to really be a leader, but he has been something of a distraction.

I'd generalize further. The postition QB is bad luck for the Browns.

Can't argue with that. Especially since their return in '99. It's been one bad QB drafted after another. Although gonna cut Tim Couch a little slack. His career was ruined his rookie year when the Browns were stupid enough to start him.

One reason dragging feet is how many teams can even afford his salary who need a QB and are not tanking? some made their move for their QB before Baker was even available......and he's coming off a major injury.

No doubt he hasn't done himself any favors but some things he has done have been overblown.

He is probably the only one who truly was ruined by the Browns...the rest were just not good.

Tyson should’ve knocked him out.

No, he really shouldn’t.

You and I catch an assault charge if we do that.

Tyson could get assault with a deadly weapon.

Not worth it no matter what the guy said.

Sure, and only $37M of Kirk's contract is guaranteed.
