It isn't just about a rough rookie season, it's not putting him in the scheme or having the coaching to reach his full potential. Sure if a guy just doesn't have the talent or "it" he isn't making it regardless but there are plenty of coaches that put their QB in danger and are a factor in a way of ruining their career. Not every coach can be good at their job just like everyday life. Like Daniel Jones, why don't you put an effort into getting him a decent OL at best. I'm not a fan of the kid but you never know. What if Tom Brady had an awful OL his first 3 seasons? Well bc BB always made sure was going to be protected, a little luck involved of course but part of that is scheme too. He used his TE's/RB's a lot and in protection.

Agree 100%. Brady has also said that if he had started right away, he wouldn't be in the league still.

OBJ and his Daddy are making things worse than they need to be. I thought Mark Sanchez explained it pretty well yesterday. He said that sometimes a QB and WR just don't fit together. He said that it's not necessarily anyone's fault. Just that there's something that just doesn't really work.

He said that it ends up in a situation where the QB wants to get rid of the ball, but the WR isn't ready to catch it...or the WR is ready for the ball, but the QB isn't ready to throw it and they just can't get on the same page. He thinks that's the issue with Baker and OBJ. Not either of their fault, they just don't fit.

Michael Thomas had a setback and won't play this season....
Wish they could keep from paying him for not having the surgery when he should have.

I think everyone knows the guy can’t play up to his contract at this point.

did hear someone bring up again yesterday it's well known OBJ likes to freelance and in this offense precision is needed. some, of course, will say Baker needs to adjust then but same person also said with the steelers AB and ben made freelancing work as ben knew where he'd be BUT Brady told AB with him he needs to be where he is supposed to be.

Yep and unfortunately, OBJ is at his best when he freelances.

I forget who it was, but I heard a great description of when Baker is at his best. They said that he's at his best when he's "playing point guard" and just spreading the ball around to whoever is open. When he tries to focus in on a receiver, is when he gets in trouble. OBJ freelancing isn't really going to work because Baker has to focus in on him which makes Baker less effective.

Add to that, the precision based offense and OBJ just isn't a great fit.

And I don't blame the FO for making a move like this bc at the time they had an idea of what kind of offense they were building but nothing was set in stone. Like you said, he just doesn't fit the scheme and couple that with he doesn't fit with Baker. I feel like he might be one of the only WR's that wouldn't fit with a QB bc of his style. At times I think he runs a play or route the way he wants to and the chemistry is not there, maybe that works with some QB's who knows.

Cowherd just said that he got a text from someone he trusts saying that there could be an announcement from the Browns re: OBJ made today.

The source didn't say what the announcement was, Cowherd thinks that if it happens, they will announce that they have cut him.

I know he was told not to come to practice. sounds like he'll be gone. Not sure if released, put on IR or something else.

Would imagine they'd like to keep him away from Bmore who could use him AND might be a better fit with LJ.......guess they could also think he's washed and a nut and want him in Bmore.
