But if it has not been done since so what precedent did it set? Sure, if there is another QB who at time appears to be a top flight NFL QB in his prime goes on the market and at least a half dozen teams are making offers it might take a fully guaranteed deal to get him, but otherwise........Gotta disagree with the bold.
The issue with the other owners wasn't really the money, because you're right, plenty of other teams wanted him and if he plays well, the money is a non-issue. The way he has been playing, the money would be an issue no matter what he was being paid.
The problem the other owners had was the precedent it set. So yes, it would still be an issue.

He was clearly looking fastball, was way out in front on that curveball. They should have pinch hit for Volpo. He had no chance. How guys can get to this level and not know how to go with the ball and hit it the other way is beyond me. That’s on Boone, just like bringing in the wrong pitcher last night.

The Wade statue looks like an orc from Lord of the Rings...wtf?
No they shut that down pretty quick. You can’t let Cleveland be a trendsetter lol.I'm of the opinion that if you think a certain player is what your team needs to get a title or at least make a run for one, you do what you have to do to get them whether the other owners like it or not.
But, NFL owners apparently had an unwritten against fully guaranteed deals, so they weren't happy about it. To them, just because it hasn't happened since then, doesn't mean it won't start happening now that the door has been opened.
No reason for a lefty to throw that guy a fastball, he is clueless about staying on a breaking ball and going the other way.He was clearly looking fastball, was way out in front on that curveball.

Yeah I meant righty, ball running away from him. He was totally clueless and the announcer knew it.Not sure we're talking about the same thing. I was talking about the big strike out, which was from a righty (Treinen struck out Volpe).
Gotta throw the fastball to set up the speed difference in the breaking ball. That's what hurt Treinen earlier in the inning. Multiple breaking balls in a row without fastballs in the zone to mess up the hitters' timing.
I can believe they were not too thrilled about it, but hasn't changed anything. If it was going to likely would have already.I'm of the opinion that if you think a certain player is what your team needs to get a title or at least make a run for one, you do what you have to do to get them whether the other owners like it or not.

so as I said it was overblown. No they shut that down pretty quick. You can’t let Cleveland be a trendsetter lol.
