I think he's a little out there. Granted different being covered by NBA players but you can find 50-year-olds (or 60+) who are really good shooting jump shots.

Need to be a bit more brave to be willing to go over the middle in the NFL as a WR, let alone able to catch the pass.

Comments made by NFL players about any other sports should be brushed off. Completely different games and both take incredible amounts of athleticism.

I think his point is that making it in the NBA is a lot harder than making it in the NFL.

And he is right about that.

A lot fewer spots, and more competition for those fewer spots too.

Certainly takes a different mentality to make it in the NFL though. That is for sure.

That’s a fair assessment, especially in regards to mentality in the NFL. You could be one play away from early retirement at any given moment in football and of course the toll it takes on your body over time.

Not saying that can’t happen in the NBA as well but it’s not full contact; they do play far more games however.

Hitting a baseball in the MLB is definitely one of the hardest things to do in sports, especially when they’re pitching 100+ mph or have crazy action.

That is what I was thinking.

You fail 70% of the time but hitting .300 is considered pretty good.

Fewer people play baseball today than play basketball globally.

And how many spots on a big league roster?

Don’t know the exact number today, but it is a lot more than on an NBA roster.

So yes.

Less competition for those spots.

Definitely very hard to get there. But the NBA is the hardest American pro league to make and it isn’t close.
