It is defending athletic guards in pick and role.

That is why Edey will have trouble. If he can’t defend in space it will be difficult for him to earn a full time role in the NBA.

Edey has a lot of offensive skill.

If he entered the league in the 90s he would have been a top 10 pick and a long time starter.

The question is whether he can defend adequately enough to allow his offense to be on the court.

The Boban comp was a good one. I think Edey is better than Boban and has a better chance to stick as a regular. Boban’s offense was never neutralized. He could score in the NBA.

He was just more of a liability defensively so he couldn’t play.
