Fair enough but Carr isn't thinking clearly. Which is weird bc he played QB in the NFL.I don’t think that is what he said at all.
He said they should sit Hurts to let him get healthy and that they weren’t winning a Super Bowl if he isn’t healthy.
He did not say Mariota is better than a healthy Jalen Hurts.
What do you mean 'as good as dead'? They have a ton of teams and a full schedule next year don't they?I think the ACC as we know it is as good as dead. FSU not making it is going to take care of that I think.
I just think Miami and FSU may be looking to get out. ND will be ok as long as they are ranked in the top 11, but they can’t ever get a bye as one of the top 4 rated P5 conference winners. What do you mean 'as good as dead'? They have a ton of teams and a full schedule next year don't they?
If you're saying eventually there are just 2 megaconferences that's still a ways off, ND needs to join somewhere

The benefit of ND holding out for so long should be an ability to take the lay of the land without being tethered to a conference. The ACC is dying. It won’t be long before Clemson, FSU and others are on the move. ND should feel no compunction to be a life preserver for anybody. If ND is smart, they run for the B10 or SEC before there aren’t any spots left. Signing up for further commitment to the ACC seems like a foolish choice.ND is already in the ACC for most of their other sports teams, makes logical sense. That doesn't always matter with ND though.

I thought the way it is set up now they have no chance at a bye, I’m pretty confident the top 4 spots always go to the conference winners.I think that if the Domers actually joined the ACC, it would save the conference. ND is a huge brand and would bring more revenue with them.
Having said that, if I were them, I'd be less likely to join a conference now. As long as they are in the top 12 they will always get into the playoff and if they're ranked high enough, they could get a bye.

I think your perception is similar to the mistaken perception ND’s board and administration has. It’s a world class academic institution for sure. But the football program doesn’t have the same pull or command of the market it once had. I think the biggest reason for that is because they’ve been neutered in the eyes of the Haters. When ND would post big media numbers it’s been both fans and haters showing up. ND just isn’t worth that hate anymore because they haven’t won anything since 1988.I think that if the Domers actually joined the ACC, it would save the conference. I think Thunder is right. I think the byes are reserved for the conference champs of what will be the Big 10, SEC, ACC, and Big 12. I think the highest ND can be is a 5 seed. What if ND is 13-0 and you have a conference champ that's 11-1 or 12-2?
Doesn’t matter, the wording is the highest ranked 4 conference champions. What if ND is 13-0 and you have a conference champ that's 11-1 or 12-2?
It’s plausible for there to be a champ that only gets in because they won their conference championship game. I can see that happening with the Texas/Oklahoma-less B12 or an upset from the B10 West team (although I think I read where they’re doing away with divisions)Doesn’t matter, the wording is the highest ranked 4 conference champions.

Good explanation.Pretty good explanation.
