They got sucked into his preseason play. As did a lot of folks really.

he looks nothing like the guy in preseason.

hell he looked decent on first drive. horrible since.

Hard to rip them without hindsight as hard to believe anyone at time thought getting rid of Dobbs would come back and bite anyone.

No doubt, though he'd have at least given us a chance. DTR was missing or just not seeing some open/easy passes.

and the Browns franchise should be smarter than that.

I mean, even with those vanilla defenses in preseason Dobbs didn't look so great this year. Not sure he's ever looked good on an NFL field in a game that mattered before this season.

I wonder if Brissett would have stayed had he known he was not going to start anyway.

Usually hard to see without being there but were a number of plays you could see guys open for pretty easy plays and he threw to someone else.

I'd have also played Walker.....I get he likely wasn't ready but could he have been worse?

I watched this game. Their gameplan made no sense. They're high on Ford, brought back Hunt who has been solid in this league before even if he's on the downslide, yet they kept dropping back early and often. DTR is not even ready to be a back up in this league but that playcalling did him no favors. They did nothing to protect him. Just threw him in the deep end, he was predictably lost, and just started chucking it up for grabs

I don't think they had a chance no matter the plan but, yeah, early in the game there were definitely times I was shaking my head on a pass vs. a run.

Just looked at fsu remaining schedule. With the exception of the game against Florida, the other challenging games will be home. Safe bet to say them and Georgia are the 2 most likely playoffs teams at the moment
