I'm on the fence about returning the Heisman to him.

Yes, he would have made a lot of money if NIL existed at the time, but it didn't. Like it or not, he and his family received impermissible benefits. Those benefits being ok now, doesn't make them ok then.

If I'm not mistaken, more than just "on the field performance" is taken into account. The NCAA doesn't really have any sway over the Heisman and the Heisman Trust has it's own rules re: eligibility.

If anything needs to be changed from that time, it should be USC's wins and NC's being restored. The NCAA not only never proved their case re: USC knowing what was going on, it never made any logical sense that USC would know or be involved given where the impermissible benefits took place and that we're talking about a player who was already on scholarship. There was no transfer portal, so it's not like he could tell USC "give me what I want or I'm out".

There is also evidence that the NCAA had already decided USC's fate before they even began their investigation.

I wouldn't be against him getting it back, but I wouldn't consider it a "miscarriage of justice" if he doesn't.

I'm far more interested in USC getting their wins and NC back than Bush's Heisman.
I hear ya. But both should happen imo...

I don't know how anyone keeps a straight face around Ferrell...

Yeah, when Quinn first started talking about it, Will Ferrell said that he didn't really remember it. But then when Quinn told what he said Ferrell says "Oh yeah, that sounds like something I'd say. lol

Yesterday, Peter King was questioning if Trey Lance will still be in the NFL in 5 years.

I thought the 49ers were insane when they moved up to draft him.

He played in one of the divisions below the FBS.

And if I remember correctly he sat out one full season and his final season he only played a handful of games.

Because of who he played against he had no business being a 1st rounder.

So haha to S.F. for completely fucking that up.

It was a pretty fucked up pick and they traded a bunch of pick's to Washington to draft him.

Someone mentioned that he just may not be Shanahans type of QB. I suppose that could be it.

From the reports I read and heard, Sam Darnold performed the best out of the 3 in camp and that it looked like his issue was being in organizations that were crap at the time. Not that he can't play.

Maybe Lance improves with a different HC?

Darnold could be good in SF if he gets a chance to play.

Yeah, it'll be interesting. Purdy earned the right to be the starter with his play last year. But he's still a bit of an unknown. Gotta wonder how long Shanahan will stick with him if he starts to struggle.
