The Cubs Curse story drove that viewership. Your comment applies to the Cleveland market. Nationally, nobody gives a fuck about the Indians. That was all about the Cubs chase to break the curse.
The Indians had not won a championship in a long time too so really there a story for both sides, not just Chicago, which is my point. But either way the whole conversation was driven bc you said the Rays and Royals were shit viewerships. That number tripled only bc of the Cubs? That isn't accurate. Two teams that had long droughts and good stories. Braves-Indians had highest viewership YTD. Plus the closer the series and if a series goes 6 or 7 games than more viewers will turn in bc they want to see close games.

Also your point about nobody gives a fuck about Cleveland outside of Cleveland can be said for any city. You really think other cities give a shit about other teams? I could give a shit about Cubs, Padres or Blue Jays for example. That doesn't make any sense.

ESPN talks about the Yankees and Dodgers more often, that's it. I don't even watch ESPN or listen to ESPN podcasts, it's awful.

So I've watched the first 7 episodes of Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers and it's really good. A lot better than the other series, They don't appear to be holding much back either.

A funny story that came out of it (I believe it was Magic that told it) from the Shaq/Kobe era...one of the reasons Showtime worked for as long as it did was because Magic always deferred to Kareem and always said it was "Kareem's Team" even when everyone knew it had become Magic's team.

So, Magic goes to Kobe and suggests the same approach with Shaq...Kobe's response?

"Man, fuck that motherfucker". lol

James Worthy also tells a fun story about being humbled by Kurt Rambis early in his rookie season which let him know he wasn't going to just walk in and be the starter.

As flawed as BM is here's a list of current starting QB's I can't put ahead of him.

Davis Mills, Matt Ryan (or are you willing to say that right now Ryan > BM?), Mariota, Jacoby Brissett, Cooper Rush, Trevor Lawrence, Mack Jones, Jameis Winston, Daniel Jones, Joe Flacco, Mitch Trubisky, Geno Smith, Carson Wentz.

You're saying he's worse than average. I think he's better than the QB's I listed.

Some of those are placeholder backups.

All of those guys are pretty bad.

Also all of them debatably better than Baker in 1 way or another.

I bet there aren’t 5 teams who would trade their starter straight up for Baker today.

That makes him firmly below average.

I mentioned this in another comment, I didn't realize how bad his numbers are through three games this season. That's on me for not looking them up.

I was judging things on what he did in Cleveland.

Gotta remember it started out good for him. Set a rookie TD mark and went 6-7 for a team that had won 2 games the previous 2 seasons. Put together a solid but nothing special third season and won a road a playoff game. And then it all feel apart last season. He went 29-30 (with a good TD/int. ratio) for a team that went 11-53 the previous 4 seasons.

But the bottom line with him is he's never gonna be the type of QB that's a true leader, like Josh Allen (who I wanted my team to draft). The peak of his career just might turn out to be the 2020 season.

If you don’t listen to ESPN I’d love to hear what you listen to? Did you ever try maybe the Michael Kay show that’s a good listen

The Browns added depth at defensive end Tuesday, signing Curtis Weaver to the practice squad. He spent 2020 on the team’s injured reserve and last year on the team’s practice squad.

Garrett has a history of speeding in Medina County.

In traffic cases on the Medina Municipal Court website, complaints were filed on Sept. 25 and 26 last year by the Ohio State Patrol. Garrett pleaded guilty to going 120 mph in the first incident and guilty to an amended speed of 99 mph in the second, both in zones where the speed limit was 70 mph. He paid $267 and $287 in fines and court costs.

Can only hope this opens his eyes....though based on reports, while speeding, may only have been 50 in a 35 which I'm guessing most of us have done. No excuse for the other incidents, though, and lucky he didn't hurt himself those times or others.

Anyone who doesn't take Lawrence over Baker is on crack
agreed

Thoughts on Kamara for FFL? Is he just a name at this point? Haven't really followed him too closely this year or even last season.

Friend was offered him and filler for Brian Robinson, Lazard and R. Wilson. First thought was don't do it (his only other QB is Tua and Lazard his only decent WR after top 2). Think Kamara can be his old self again?

I think he is firmly in the same category as Wentz and Trubisky.

He has had some pretty good moments, but push comes to shove, the lows and the downside outweighs it.

It is why the Browns dealt for Watson, and why other teams weren’t eager to scoop him up.

And if he doesn’t turn it around soon, his days as a starter might be numbered.

I would be worried.

Legal troubles aside, he doesn’t have any chemistry with Jameis. That robs him of his greatest asset as a fantasy player. His ability to catch passes out of the backfield.

Even then, seems he isn’t nearly as explosive as he once was.

I have Robinson and not sure I'd take a chance on Kamara being successful over his potential.

A couple of things have worked against him, imo.

First, he was badly overdrafted. Dude is a game manager who ended up as the #1 pick overall. Had he been drafted properly, no one would be talking about this.

He had a head coach who was in over his head and didn't/couldn't develop him.

When he finally got a coach who seems to know what he's doing, he got injured and tried to play through it.

Those aren't his fault.

He's also been pretty immature. Early in his career he seemed more interested in making commercials than working on his game. Then later in his career he got in his feels over criticism, etc.

That part is on him.

Jameis doesn't know how to use him in the passing game so probably best to stay away for now

In his feels? I mean, plenty of players want to move on if they were a starter being moved to not being a starter...especially in a contract year and still young.

But he can definitely be his own worst enemy at times.

in my fantasy football league, i had the 3rd pick after keepers were decided (everyone gets 1 keeper- and they HAVE TO keep at least 1 guy). Mine was Swift.

I had the 3rd pick and the best guys on the board were Kamara, Mixon and Jefferson. I wanted Jefferson but was sure he would not be there. He was.

Still- Jefferson sucked last week. lol

Wife made ribs with sugar free BBQ sauce.....and they lying!!!!!

So tender.
why would the sugar in the sauce effect the tenderness of the ribs? I would think that would be dependent on how they were cooked. I would think sugarless sauce would just make for very bland sauce.

while I do like a good red sweet/spicy BBQ- I also can go for a good vinegar based sauce once in a while as well.
