The Indians had not won a championship in a long time too so really there a story for both sides, not just Chicago, which is my point. But either way the whole conversation was driven bc you said the Rays and Royals were shit viewerships. That number tripled only bc of the Cubs? That isn't accurate. Two teams that had long droughts and good stories. Braves-Indians had highest viewership YTD. Plus the closer the series and if a series goes 6 or 7 games than more viewers will turn in bc they want to see close games. The Cubs Curse story drove that viewership. Your comment applies to the Cleveland market. Nationally, nobody gives a fuck about the Indians. That was all about the Cubs chase to break the curse.
Also your point about nobody gives a fuck about Cleveland outside of Cleveland can be said for any city. You really think other cities give a shit about other teams? I could give a shit about Cubs, Padres or Blue Jays for example. That doesn't make any sense.
ESPN talks about the Yankees and Dodgers more often, that's it. I don't even watch ESPN or listen to ESPN podcasts, it's awful.
