Rodon and DeGrom are pretty much gonna be the only good SP out their on the market unless Verlander or Kershaw leave their teams which I highly doubt. I doubt DeGrom leaves either.

Rodon would be a great get for someone - but expensive.

Eovaldi, Carrasco, Bassit, Heaney are kind of that next tier- not gonna find a #2 there but might find a #3.

Tyler Anderson has had a nice year. Clevinger might bounce back a year after TJ.....some interest there maybe.

....and you're counting on Heaney and Anderson wanting to leave a contender in LA.

Average means middle. About 16 out of 32 or at least within a couple spots.

Baker looks a lot closer to 32 than 16 to me.

As flawed as BM is here's a list of current starting QB's I can't put ahead of him.

Davis Mills, Matt Ryan (or are you willing to say that right now Ryan > BM?), Mariota, Jacoby Brissett, Cooper Rush, Trevor Lawrence, Mack Jones, Jameis Winston, Daniel Jones, Joe Flacco, Mitch Trubisky, Geno Smith, Carson Wentz.

You're saying he's worse than average. I think he's better than the QB's I listed.

I think that's just guys in their 20's. lol

At that age we all think we're indestructible.

Hell, I wasn't even that bad and I still sometimes wonder why I'm still alive.

At least he wasn't on a sports bike (or crotch rocket, whatever you want to call it). Kids around here always seem to be weaving through traffic, speeding, riding wheelies in traffic, etc. Adults don't seem to ride those sports bikes (or at least are in the vast minority) and guys on Harleys don't do that stupid shit.

Whenever I see those kids on the road, I stay away. I don't want to be the one swerving to try to avoid running over one after they dump their bike.

Been a truck guy my whole life and somehow avoided the muscle cars. I’m looking at a Chevelle SS at the moment though that might do me in.

Nah, muscle cars are great. You can feel all that torque and horsepower without driving like an ass.

If you're going classic muscle, just understand the limitations you're dealing with (braking, handling) or plan to modify/upgrade. Few things scarier than wet drum brakes suddenly pulling you to one side.

Watching with Eli as the Giants shit the bed is a fun Monday night.

The annoying mistakes with Jones could have Tyrod under center if they struggle. It's early and they're 2-1, so not yet. At least Tyrod is controlled and (too) safe.

Rashawn Slater out for the season for the Chargers- and Herbert beat up pretty bad.....Chargers are looking less strong than they once were.
0-3 after a blowout loss to the Jags, I smell tires smouldering. Won't improve until Herbert gets healthy and with Slater out, it's time to sit Herbert until he can play without pain IMO.

....and the Cubs fandom drove that number much more than Cleveland fans. Scarcity was also a factor.
Cubs did play a factor but Cleveland fans are some of most dedicated of all fans. They sold out 6 straight years. So if you think the Cubs fans drove that...you would be wrong.

The Chargers beat the 0-3 Raiders. They are 1-2

I think you’re nuts. Of those names I would take:
Matt Ryan
Trevor Lawrence
Mac Jones
Carson Wentz

Those are easy calls. The other names? You have two fucking back ups in there and a place holder until Seattle drafts their QB of the future. I still don’t think there’s much of a difference between Mayfield and those guys. He’s just not any good. After this season, he’s the Chase Daniels of his generation of QB.

The Cubs Curse story drove that viewership. Your comment applies to the Cleveland market. Nationally, nobody gives a fuck about the Indians. That was all about the Cubs chase to break the curse.

I do.

McCaffery has been getting some decent yardage on the ground.

But what sets him apart is his ability in the passing game.

Baker not even looking his way.
Have not seen their games and whatever one thinks of Baker this is surprising. Seemed OK dumping off to Hunt when he was in the game.

If you are watching is he doing what often got him in trouble? Ignoring a wide open, easy 5-10 yard gain and taking chances that fail?

Cleveland was basically the perfect roster for him. Arguably the best OL and running game in the NFL and we saw him play really good at his best but that’s the thing. His best was everything fitting into place. Even if Watson doesn’t workout it would have been worth it
While I get what you are saying I'm not so sure about that....in a sense. I mean, his best season he had a decent slot #2 receiver as his #1 and at best end of bench guys as his 2-4 in Higgins, Hodge and a 6th round rookie.

In addition, had a really nice game in the playoffs without 2 starters on the O-line AND their backups AND another of their backups.

Do you really want to compare size of the two fanbases?

Mariota and Rush have looked pretty good too, and Mills had a solid run last year. I'm not seeing enough out of Baker thus far to think anyone will want to move forward with him as their starter next season (unless it's a tanking season). His hopes of a payday are fading.

He’s garbage. He’s got game manager level physical gifts and the mindset of a River boat gambler. Any team that makes him the starter is having a shit season.

Okay gotta few things to say. This is what I get for not looking some stuff up. So my bad.

Ryan's number's are better than I thought this season. And BM's are much worse. Not sure what the hell I was thinking but I thought his numbers were better through three games.

As far as Lawrence. Going forward he better be a better QB than BM. I think he was way more talented coming outta college. What a difference a real NFL coach has made for him this season.

I was judging BM by his numbers in Cleveland not knowing how awful of a start he's gotten off to this season.

city size does not always necesarily determine fan base size

for instance, the Browns have a much bigger fan base than any LA football team in its history

also- not surprised Gonsolin got hurt- what is he at ? 128 IP? Thats like double his career high in the majors

@fightinfunbags @dtgold88 @Shanemansj13

I think I asked a couple of you for fantasy baseball advice at the end of last week.

So, Sunday night I went to bed, and I had lost my matchup 311.5 to 312.

I woke up yesterday morning, did not even check my team, was bummed out. I started Kirby instead of Wright- and Wright got like 20 more points than Kirby- and obviously I would have won if I started Wright.

Normally- after a bitter loss like that (I lost in the semi's- its a winner take all league)- I would not even check in disgust.

I checked this afternoon and saw there was a scoring change and point adjustment and I instead won by 0.5 pts.

pretty unreal.

and yes- I realize other peoples fantasy sports stories are the worst- but cmon!
Yes....and refreshing to hear a story like this as so often it's the bad beats we hear about.

I'm talking dedicated fanbases and Cleveland travels well, always has traveled well. LA has one of the largest cities but dedicated fanbase and actual size of fanbase...not much compared to other fanbases. Size doesn't matter in this case...as you know.

I mean, sure, the networks try to make it a huge story but I don't think you are getting many people to watch a baseball game who otherwise wouldn't because of a curse (Tribe has their own FYI if you believe in them).
