I have been boycotting the works of the FatMan whose name I shall not speak until he finished his fucking saga with the last book.

But your discussion of the source material for House of Dragons is intriguing. It seems Shakespearean to me. What Shakespeare used to do is take a history text of his era like the Hollinshed Chronicles and see some intriguing mention in the history and he would then craft a story humanizing those figures in history.
Julius Caesar comes from Plutarch and an attempt to humanize the dilemma of Brutus.
Romeo and Juliet comes from a family tree of the two main families in Verona Italy and Shakespeare noticing that a 150 year feud ends in the same year where both families had a young teen die…and boom he writes Romeo and Juliet borrowing from other famous love story plot lines of his era.

It seems like what the show runners at HBo are doing is taking the original “history chronicle” of the Targaryan dynasty and humanizing the participants in the biggest pieces of the text. I think I have to read this now.

Fatty clearly took inspiration from Shakes for a few of his characters.

Aegon II is Macbeth.....he did all the same murder shit, Including the kids.

Haelena Targaryan is Tamora in Titus Andronicus.

Was made to beg for the life of her kid, did not help..lol

I won't spoil the twist on that story.. I'll just say it's super fucked up.

But, the most egregious shit?

Ceesei Lannister is Lady Mcbeath.

Like, this Dude actually wrote that Cersei met a witch, Maggie the frog, who told her she would marry the King.

He's not even trying to disguise the shit....lol

The whole Damn dance of the Dragon is King Lear.

Also, George is never going to finish.

I am resigned to that fact.

But, I take comfort in knowing that he is heavily involved in this show.

So, it likely won't go off the rails like Game of Thrones did after they ran out of the source material.

Oh, absolutely.

I totally get why an artist, or their families, might want to go either way with their work posthumously.

I was a big Prince fan and he was very particular about the way his music was used.

Total control freak.

So, when I hear his songs used to sale cereal or in a credit card commercial, it's so cringe.

But, that's what happens when you are a drug attic who dies of a overdose with no will.

His family wanted to get paid, which is kinda shortsighted.

Look at Kurt Cobain's daughter.

They held onto ownership of the intellectual properties and his estate is worth over 100 million now.

So, when George dies, I totally expect his beneficiaries to cash in and let another writer finish what he started.

Like you said, way too much money to be had.

Way too many shows already in development.

I just hope HBO doesn't jump the Shark again.

They are planning on doing a Jon Snow spinoff based on his journey AFTER the end of the books.

It's going to be a shitshow.....imo

He's a lazy bastard. It is beyond clear he will die and someone will finish it for him. Because it's a cash cow. Obviously someone will do it. And way faster than 10 years plus on one book

I've written eight novels. Two have been published. Six sit on my computer. I sent one to Steven King and M. Night Shamalan for their opinion and offering them the rights if I get get credit along side them on the cover and half the royalties. Still waiting. I've got four more novels half written. I know the ending of all of them, but getting there has been a problem. I'm not sure if I'll ever finish them until I can get some idea of where to go from the points where I've stopped. My latest is going great and I.ver written six chapters since Saturday and will write at least two more today.

I've made $1.96 from my first two on Amazon.

To get to the point. Writing a book or putting together 125,000 words that make sense and other people enjoy is extremely difficult. Getting that work published is a nightmare unless you strike gold with something. Then everyone wants anything you write. Putting together that can be made into a movie or TV series has to be more than something that just ends. It has to have all of the components to be extended.

It's all about the money.

Uh, not sure why they would? Neither had that issue.

Both lost starting jobs because of injury. Slovis replaced JT Daniels when he got hurt, then Slovis was replaced by Jaxson Dart (now at Ole Miss) when he got hurt, then transferred when Riley brought Caleb Williams with him.
