What's new...a lot defensive guys injured but that has nothing to do with the offense. If things don't change quick, things need to change in a big way. Problem is their schedule is so weak I see this being a week in and week out thing..back and forth. A big circle jerk where nothing changes. I have more of an issue with Baker than OBJ.
I think maybe give it more than 1 game with a new staff and disjointed offseason. I mean, remember all the excitement after they beat the Ravens last year? That didn't mean much by end of season.

Well who would? Barkley? The Browns needed a QB so it was going to be Darnold, Baker, Rosen or Allen. 3 of 4 haven't made the playoffs or had little to no success. Allen's had success but is really nothing special. I would compare him to a Blake Bortles and the Bills defense is nasty. I guess in a redraft it would be Josh Allen. Of course you have Lamar Jackson but he was taken late 1st and he fits that Baltimore system PERFECTLY.

IMO they give Baker this year and if it's a disaster they look to draft a QB but they do bc they like the top QB and he can be a sure stud, not a risk. Whether that means they are already sitting there with a top 5 pick or trading OBJ to get picks to trade, etc. If they believe Lawrence can be a franchise, All-Pro QB ---go for it. Remember, Dorsey drafted Baker-that was his guy. They can walk away from Baker if they don't think he can turn this franchise around...Lawrence is the most hyped QB in the last 20-30 years and for a good reason. All that being said, I don't see the Browns winning less than 6 games so it's difficult seeing them with a top 5 pick.
In a redraft it's LJ no question...but agree no hindsight it was one of the other QBs and they'd have been ripped even more at the time had they took Josh allen.

No way he gets the year. This is not a developmental season. I'd even pull him Thursday if he doesn't have it (doesn't mean it would be for good).

I don't see that working with OBJ. Trading him before he starts pouting and ruining his value is probably the better idea. Problem is, he's tight with Landry.

That value has already eroded to an alarming degree. Not even sure he would fetch a 2nd round pick at this point.

With his contract and his recent production, hell, there might not be any teams that even want him.

I'd have to consider a 2nd if offered.

If anything it eroded bc of his injury concern. He was hurt all last year...so we've seen him play in one game at full health. No clear determination until we see him at full health this year but his value definitely isn't where it was 2 years ago. If he plays to a PB level that could help the Browns if they are looking to trade him...not looking good so far

sure starting to look like we got hoodwinked in that deal. Really gonna look bad if Peppers plays well.

not only is no one watching, there isn't even going to be any sports until 2021.

I didn't watch any college football. Watched the Browns for 3 quarters. Watched a little of NFL redzone...that's about it.

I think he had a decent season last year but nothing special. They drafted Dexter Lawrence with that Browns pick so we will see how both turn out. It might just end up being decent for both sides but lets hope OBJ steps his game up. Kinda difficult to be consistent with a new coach every year and Baker throwing lasers behind him but no excuses, he is a pro bowl caliber player that is expected to catch everything.

I don’t think the Browns got hoodwinked.

OBJ is a great talent. Just might not be a good teammate and seems like a poor fit for Cleveland.

Will anyone be surprise if OBJ and Baker are on different teams next season?

Baker might end up being a decent NFL QB, but he did not deserve to be a #1 overall pick

He's in his 3rd year, his 4th coach and 3rd system. Not many (if an) QB's would have good numbers under those circumstances.

You really think the Browns would trade Mayfield? :pound: OBJ. Now he's another story.

Agreed
Like I said he may turn out to be decent. But he should not have been drafted #1 overall.

Tough.

who would you have taken?

Easy to say LJ in hindsight, but nobody had that. Some weren’t even sure he was going to be a QB at the NFL level.

Allen is the only guy among the consensus top picks in that draft who has been better than Baker.

They should have taken Darnold, imo. From what I've read and heard, Darnold is actually doing well considering the lack of weapons he has. I'd love to see what he could do with the Browns weapons.

You haven't read that from the Jets camp.

Darnold hasn't shown that he's capable of anything yet. Inconsistency.
