That really did feel like the end of an era though. I don't see Iggy or Livingston coming back and they were key in the run. Hope they retire both of their numbers. Old team that needs to inject youth that's been playing 5 years with a target on their back. Now they're going to be one of the teams in the pack. Time to adjust expectations.

Next year is very unlikely to be a competitive one even if they get what they want and KD takes the supermax. Rebuild year but not necessarily the end of titles. It'll be exciting next year with it wide open. I mean, AD + LBJ + another legit name probably favored in the West now for sure? And then out East who the hell knows. Yes they could have pulled this one out, but how do you see game 7 in Toronto going without Klay or KD? Yeah, exactly. At least they got to go down in front of the fans and we don't have to waste 3 days to see all the cheering Drakers.

You're right. It's probably all for the best they lost this game, as they probably would've gotten into a plane crash on their way to game 7 with the way things were going.
