It isn’t over yet.

But, 2 things:

First, this years group is hands down the best version of the Celtics in the Tatum/Brown era. So much talent on this team.

Second, there aren’t any great teams out there.

In the past, those train wrecks came against teams who were as good or better than them. Those teams don’t exist this year. And the teams capable of putting up some resistance either got beat, got hurt, or both.
Both of your points are good ones.

I'd only add that if all teams are at full health... (the C's too)... these Celtics are still highly likely to win a title.

A healthy Porzingis takes this C's team from very good to something close to (or flatout being) special.

Yeah, just think all the concern based on the past is unfounded.

The past is in the past. This is a different team.

That last part is not true

They’ve played down to other teams

This is some bullshit that should be getting teams fined or losing picks
Jason Kidd is really trying to screw with the Celtics' game approach and fans' heads.

Silver said last night that if the health reports are purposefully dishonest or outright false, teams will lose first round draft picks.

I'll believe it when he does it. Professional sports commissioners work for the owners. They ain't goin' to screw with their bosses.

celtics have more dependable players than they have had in years.when one fails to step up,another does like zinger in game 1 and holiday last night.that makes a tough team to come back from 2 down on.

Who?

The Celtics were good the last few years. They were always on the short list of teams with a puncher’s chance.

They were never the best team in the league. The closest they came they lost to team who was their equal in the Finals.

They were more talented

But the jays continued to blow late game leads

Miami in the bubble and last year is a good example

Ok, maybe.

But even then.

Playoff Miami is not the same as regular season Miami.

Those series were coin flips.

I was gonna say playoff Miami is actually a thing

I have much respect for spo

I think he’s a legit top 10 all time coach but he needs a non Lebron title to make it obvious to others imo

Plus kemba got hurt in the tor series (thanks to jaylen brown) and was never the same again

Boston could have beat those teams for sure.

But I don’t think they were really better.

This year’s team is. And this year’s team would have beat last year Miami.

Maybe last year Denver also.

Both Jays are older and better... and DWhite, Holiday and Zinger were amazing additions.

A lot of credit to Brad Stevens in building this roster.
He has done a very good job in the FO.

You're so grumpy arguing semantic facts instead of enjoying the scene in the bar as the thing unfolds. "Plenty of people picked Dallas"...not really, Boston was 2-1 favorites, you guys act like you don't want to admit your team is good? I honestly don't get it.

Celtics shot the 3 really well in game 1. They won the game from beginning to end with a huge lead fueled in part by the Celtics big year long advantage: an average day for them from 3 is a great day for winning. This is the blueprint dude, all year, Celtics shoot like that from 3. And they did exactly that in game 1 and won easy. Game 2, they shot like shit and it was a much tighter game. But guess what, their terrific defense shut down everyone on Dallas except Doncic, a classic playoff strategy of letting the big guy get his, shutting down the rest. And he only had 9 points in the 2nd half.

So if you want a medal for proving that mathematically the 2 games were below (the considerable) average, uh ok dude, you got this. Meanwhile y'all are coronating and you are parsing 'facts'. Every game is its own story with multiple parts, tonight a big part was terrible shooting by Boston from 3. Also a 'fact'

Lighten up man, this is the kind of year you've been hoping for for 15 years
Maybe he's bitter because the Cs are getting it done without the great Daniel Theis? :noidea:

I kid..... kid.

If so, come on Boston. Al deserves a ring. All around good guy. LFG 2 more wins.
Team has gone against him in some big games (mostly wins until lately) and agree would like to see him get one before he retires. Seems like a good dude.

This Boston team is similar to the Detroit team that won a title. All-Stars all over the court but no superstars. Everyone thought Tatum was that guy and he isn't. Brown and Tatum are both stars and can play like superstars at times. 1-5 they play great defense like that Detroit team and anyone can go off. Obviously in today's NBA they rely on the 3 ball WAY more than that Detroit team but just a bunch of solid All-stars with depth. No superstars.

Unfortunately, for Dallas, Kyrie has not been consistent this postseason and Dallas could get by these other teams but you can't do that against Boston. If you don't have the depth and talent like Boston you need 3 guys to go off and that 3rd guy (PJ) to play at a very high level. Not likely.

Luka cannot do it all by himself or they get swept, maybe Boston in 5.

While I agree there are no SUPERstars on the team, no MVP level guys, this team has far more talent than the 2004 Pistons

Through two games Kyrie has be awful. Saw these numbers earlier this morning.

When he's the primary defender Celtics players are shooting 11-16 (27 points).

More bad Kyrie numbers, 13-37 FG's (35%) and 0-8 on contested 3's.

Only 2-8 when Jrue Holiday is primary defender.

His game two numbers. 7-18 from the field and 0-3 from downtown for 16 points. Six points on 2-8 shooting last in 2nd half.
