I'm curious. Is Russell going to be looked at add equal to Rodman in this? Or worse?

I wouldn't think so myself. Similar players for sure though.

As overrated as I think Russell is I do agree with this. The fact I think he's overrated doesn't mean I think he wasn't good.
He averaged nearly 10 rebounds a game MORE than Rodman, doubled his scoring average, and was a better defender. Either Rodman is a liability, or Russell is still dominant. I don't see how it can go any other way

Not sure why you posted this from what I posted. When Rodman became a top rebounder he was averaging 16,17,18 a game. just a few short of Russell, Rodman shot 52% Russell 44%. I'm not so sure we can say without question Russell was a better defender. Rodman 7 times 1st team defense and 2 times DPOY.

It is a shame that they don't have rebound rate for Bill Russell's generation, I would be curious to see how those number stacked up.

If you want to make a case for where Russell clearly outshines Rodman it is his passing. 15% assist percentage is crazy high for a center.

I bet I could take Jerry West 1-1 if we he was willing to play this afternoon.

I was making a point from our conversation yesterday
To me, Rodman kills his team in a mock on the offensive end. Most of these teams, you have to man every player, because if you double, the open guy can kill you. Against a team with Rodman, your PF can literally stand by the basket and double the post or help on drives, because Rodmans range extended to 5' before he started firing airballs. Even inside that, a lot of his rebounds came on grabbing his own clanked layup. Or, you could take your worst defender and let them play him, because other than a put back, he still wouldn't score
