That's not true at all. All teams have players that still require doubles. On my squad, Magic and Baylor can't be checked one on one. Everyone has great players

Yeah for sure but personally I had 4 defenders that I will trust 1-on-1 defensively, now will there be doubles at times of course. I'm just saying he had the best player ever next to him and that helps a lot. Still one of the best shooters off the bench of all-time

Kerr is my 10th man, will hardly ever play, strictly a 3 point specialist. I'd be more worried about who you have to guard Magic and Baylor. Rodman is gonna be all over King James:nod:

And he is a fine 10th man. The debate was only towards your comment that he is the best 3 point shooter in this mock.

Seriously? You don't think it would go down with more attempts? Ummm, ok... Not to mention the most he ever made in a season without Michael Jordan on his team was 73... Less than 1 per game. Yeah he was awesome...
Actually, he was great at what I drafted him for, a 3 point specialist. If he were playing more than a few minutes a game, maybe not, but I'd just as soon have him shoot a 3 if I needed one as anyone

Cubs just made themselves even better today by acquiring Chapman. My Nats just wouldn't give up enough young talent for a 2 month rental of Chapman and now they appear to be in trouble if they can't land CL Jeffries from Brewers.

Wtf. The Indians were supposed to front-runners for him. That's what happens when you have a ton of money in baseball. The Indians cap is under 100 mil. The Cubs are Dodgers are over $200 and the Cubs is closing in on LA now. Damn!

@Nosferatu

Can we delay voting on matchups for a couple hours until after each is posted? That way owners of the teams can have some time to go back and forth discussing matchups, game plans and counter strategies.

I think this will add a lot of fun. Besides, not everyone views how our pieces fit together quite the way that we actually plan to use them.

James guards Baylor better than Rodman guards James. Both are tough matchups though.

I can bring in Cooper to guard Magic for stretches, but Penny is good enough to hang.
Elgin Averaged 38/16 and 36/20 in his prime. I haven't seen anything from LBJ that says he could guard Baylor without fouling out .And saying LBJ could guard him better than Rodman could guard LBJ is LOL absurd. I'd also welcome Penny trying to check Magic. As to Cooper, if he is in to TRY and check Magic, you'd have two guys in Cooper and Unseld who were non scoring threats on the court together

Cmon man.

Baylor averaged 38/16 in an era where athletes simply were not up to par. LeBron has 3 inches and 25 pounds on him, is faster and more explosive. LeBron is one of the best on ball 1 on 1 defenders of all time. He is Taylor made to guard Elgin Baylor.

You have zero shooting in your starting lineup and 2 bigs who can't score outside of 7 feet. Good luck finding driving lanes!

Starters

Magic Johnson
David Thompson
Elgin Baylor
Dennis Roman
Bob McAdoo

Bench

Steve Kerr
Many Ginobili
Kiki Vandeweghe
Roy Tarpley
Dwight Howard

I love Magic running the show with this group of starters. This squad will be deadly in the open court and in the half court. Very big and tough to match up with. Defensively, Rodman will give the other teams best player fits, and my bench has two 7' double double machines a scorer in Kiki, a 3 point shooter in Kerr and a great 6th man in Manu. Ready for a war with Lance's great squad

McAdoo can score to 20' and lit KAJ up like a Christmas tree, was one of his toughest matchups. Not worried about 3's from starters, we'll be jamming everything in your face, either Magic leading the break, or simply backing down Penny and making him his Bitch in the post. Also, if you plan to have LBJ guard Baylor, you'd better have a good backup, because LBJ will foul out in 10 minutes lol

You're insane if you think Baylor wouldn't average 30 a game today. LeBron is big, but Baylor won't be guarding LBJ, Rodman will, and as has been stated, if LBJ didn't like Dray Green up his ass.....
Baylor will check 6'7 Unseld and his 10 ppg career average...Bron can't check Baylor without getting in foul trouble and he will be working hard on both ends

Lebron didn't like draymond guarding him so much he put up one of the best finals performances ever. Rodman isn't shutting him down or even close. And LBJ has fouled out legitimately only like 5 times in his career (ya a lot of that's the refs but still).

Baylor was a generational player, but the game is different today. Athletes are far superior today than they were in the 60s. That does not mean the greats couldn't play today, they could, but they would not be anywhere near as dominant. The league average player from 1960 would struggle to get a D1 scholarship today.

Talent wise I think our squads are very even, I just think my pieces fit together better.

Rodman won't shut him out, but he would hold him below his norm, without question. LBJ has the two of a good defender, BUT, he hardly ever guards a great scorer, as his team wants him to stay out of foul trouble. And, as you said, he gets calls because he is the top player today, but her be on equal footing in this mock

You both are going on and on about your team but mine is sooo good that it earned a first round bye.

Lebron has seen athletes and scorers that can actually shoot better than Baylor and Lebron has played both ways without getting in foul trouble against he greats, he rarely gets in foul trouble. Baylor never saw an athlete like Lebron and considering Baylor cant shoot the 3 ball (he couldnt obviously bc there wasnt one) that gives Lebron even more of an edge. It's hard to beat a guy off the dribble when he is stronger and quicker than you and has 3 inches and 30 pounds on you.

I was gonna say the same in reverse, I think mine fits together better, though both have great talent. Magic makes everyone better, period. A Magic led team is a far cry from a Penny led team. Rodman made great teams better by doing the dirty work, rebounding and D'ing up. The thing about Baylor, said it before, will say it again, there may not have been quite as many great athletes back then, but defenses could MUG you, and he still scored nearly 40 a game.
Did you see what happened to Curry in the Finals when the refs let them play physical? Clank City. Baylor was used to the physical game, but if he played today, when you can't hand check, he'd score every time. Which brings up another good question....without a handcheck, what's to stop Magic from backing down anyone you put on him and scoring every time? Match-ups and a deeper bench favor my squad

Penny is not the leader of my team. LeBron and Kareem are. Do you honestly think physical play would not favor LeBron? Cmon man. Magic can back Penny and Cooper down all he wants, but he still has to deal with Kareem, Unseld and Jones. Since you have so many no shooters, help will be easy to find.

Since the 90s, there have only been 2 or 3 teams who have won championships with a point guard as their best player.
