I get on to update the draft from last night til now and I'm like.

1 - Well, crap. Jerry West was gonna be my SG, I guess I'll take Stockton as my PG.
2 - WTH, now Stockton is gone, Kevin Garnett at PF it is.
3 - Garnett, too?! Fine, I'll take Ray Allen and just have a deadly shooting team.
4 - What's happening! Ray Allen gone! Karl Malone it is!

It's been an interesting afternoon.

I feel special that I took 3 of those. I was planning Stockton, West, KG myself.

I wasn't really upset. I felt I had room for one more really big name and I'd be set. None of these guys being gone really hurts, cause my planned roster is still intact....

The thing that hurts the most about those players being taken is that trading for that extra cap space may mean nothing now, as I am not sure taking extra cap just to spend it will actually be worth it.

Yeah, I think Paul and Kobe would compliment each other very well. Especially, the Kobe later in his career

Payton had Ray Ray= no championship. The scary thing is Kobe never had a great PG that is one of the best in the league and great assist guy, a plus is he can shoot too

No, he actually didn't. Payton was traded to Milwaukee for Ray.... It would have been interesting to see what could have been with those 2 - but honestly I can't imagine it much better than Payton with the 2 shooters he took in against Chicago - I don't think Ray changes the outcome of that series (even if it wasn't before his time).
