We really need someone that can bat behind Bryce. He's always on base and Ramos is too big of a DP threat to do it. But who can? Escobar? He usually puts the ball in play but also has grounded into several DP's lately. Fuck, Rendon and Zim need to come back asap. Werth too. We'll have several options. In related news, I'm still surprised Bryce is getting pitches to hit with little protection behind him.

Good point. First off, Bryce should be hitting 2nd or 3rd, not 4th. More at-bats is better than fewer at-bats for your best hitter over the course of the season. Even without Rendon, Zim & Werth, I think there are options to bat behind him that are better than Ramos. As long as he's hitting the way he is this year, Danny would be a good choice. Desmond would have also been a good choice in prior years, but the way he's hitting right now he needs to be as far from the top of the order as possible. The other I was thinking of was Taylor. He's been streaky as hell, and is prone to go long periods of time looking lost at the plate, but if he's going well he could put a lot of pressure on the pitcher/defense batting behind Harper. It may be to early for him to be given that responsibility, but I find it an interesting idea.

Should be a well pitched series this weekend. Bolsinger vs. Zimmermann tonight. Kershaw was supposed to start game 1 for the Dodgers, but according to Zuckerman and others, LA switched Bolsinger and Kershaw, so Kershaw will go Saturday.

Friday: Bolsinger vs. Zimmermann
Saturday: Kershaw vs. Fister
Sunday: Greinke vs. Scherzer

So, other than the score, last night sucked. Waited through the first 1:20 of light delays, but left when the lights went out the 2nd time. We knew it would be an ongoing issue once they went out again. Hopefully they can hold on to the 3-2 lead for the last 4 innings.

Big July series starting tonight in DC. Mets saved their 3-best pitchers for this series. On 106.7 the fan they were actually talking about if the Nats should have saved Scherzer for the Mets, our biggest divisional threat.
