What an awful series. Bright side is one game was rained out, so at least it wasn't a 3-game sweep. I still have faith that they can turn it around. Fortunately, the Red Sox figured out how to win some games this week and keep the Braves within striking distance.

Had to keep the series threads goin. Nats offense woke up the first 2 games, outscoring Texas 19-4. Darvish vs Roark today.

Zimmerman's comin back soon it looks like, already playing in rehab games..... as a LF. I guess that's really happening.

Phightins just had a 5-game series against the Amazins, and lost 4 of them. They played two 14 inning games, an 11 inning game and they gave up 11 runs last night... meaning their bullpen should be beyond taxed. If Nats have any brains at all, they'll get to that pen ASAP.

Game 1: Buchanan vs Zimmermann
Game 2: Burnett vs Strasburg
Game 3: Kendrick vs Fister

What a night! J-Zim lowers his ERA from 4.07 to 3.59 with 8 shutout innings. R-Zim ropes two doubles in his return, one down the LF line and one down the RF line. I think everyone in the lineup got on base tonight. And for icing on the cake, the Barves and Mets lost.

A.J Burnett on the bump for them tomorrow night. Not sure how i feel about that. He was dominant against the Nats on May 3rd in Philly, only 3 hits and 1 run allowed in 6 IP. If i remember correctly, it was that damn 2-seam fastball that gave us trouble..... however since that outing, he's been getting lit up. Zero quality starts since then. ERA has gone from 2.06 to 3.79 in last five starts.

Ian Desmond with his first day off. Gotta say, i dont get the timing on this since he hits Kendrick very well. 15 for 37 (.405 avg, 1.086 OPS)

How sweep it is!! Nats win 4-2 and sweep the series. Fister goes 7, giving up 2 ER. Clip and Sori with scoreless innings.

10 game road trip coming up

So, I'm back from vacation and crazy work stuff and can post on the games...and we go to the West Coast and play in the middle of the night. I'll try and stay up as long as I can for these games, but it's gonna be tough.

That HR was a mile high bomb!

The Padres said it went 424 feet, I believe. Not bad for an almost one-handed moonscraper. Rendon let's go with the top hand sooner on more home runs than I can remember for anyone else, especially someone as...not big...as he is.

Brett Boone used to do it but that as because his roided up arms wouldn't let him finish a swing, ha ha.
