It's a little surprising how quickly the bigger names came off the market this year, but there's still a few quality players remaining.

My top 5 (in order of position):

  • PG Mo Williams
  • PG Beno Udrih
  • PG Sebastian Telfair
  • PF Drew Gooden
  • C Nikola Pekovic (restricted)
Now that Brandon Jennings is out of the picture, Mo Williams is your top remaining free agent in the NBA, along with a couple of quality backup point guard options. I read rumors on hoopshype just about daily, and apparently Mo has been threatening to teams that if his offers don't get better, he'll sign a one-year deal at the veteran's minimum with the Heat.

Turns out Mo Williams still has quite an ego.

But, you really can't blame him for his approach. It was reported that Mo did have a meeting with officials from the Memphis Grizzlies, but there still have been no reports of any deal. Hopefully a deal gets done soon, as Memphis badly needs his scoring.

And to other teams - For God's sake, PLEASE up your offers. $3-4 million a year ain't gonna get it done for Mo. We don't want him to land in Miami do we???:gaah:

Everybody is at the point right now to where they want to save on cap space for the FA market next year, which is expected to be more promising than Mo.

I really don't know where Mo has left to go expecting any real money... Realistically he's looking at becoming a backup... Nobody is going to pay much for that at this point... IMO

Why would Miami want Mo Williams? They already have Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole. I would think they would want to sign another wing player to backup Wade/James.

Last I checked, next year's class is top-heavy and lacking depth. For those that didn't follow Mo in Utah, he's a plus-scoring guard who's no slouch at setting up for others. His season was hindered and cut in half by thumb surgery.

In all seriousness, what marquee free agent wants to play in Memphis? If your the Grizzllies, he's your best opportunity for perimeter scoring. Get a deal done.

In Miami, he'd give them a fourth scorer (even if he doesn't start) and would absolutely boost their chances at a three-peat. Don't let that happen, please.

I really do not think Miami would have room for Mo...

idk though, his talent at vet min would have to be a sign as long as he was willing to be a back up (even if he moved directly to starter or played starting minutes, he just has to leave his ego at the door)

Don't get me wrong, I like Mo but where...? Memphis is ideal as they lost their back up who I love but his name is hiding in my head... I can also see the Clips looking at him since they lost Bledsoe... I wish the Lakers, outside of that teams have young guys they are building around or guys they have set... Brooklyn may want to see what they can do but I can't see anybody committing big money to Mo at this point...

It depends what Oden does, which we are supposed to find out today, and if he chooses the Heat, does he sign for the minimum?

If so, they still have the 3.2M they could offer Williams ( if they want him).

Why didn't Utah resign him? They don't think he is all that good, obviously.
