Lol no offense Crash, but I'm glad your not our talent scout. He was all over the place in that video. Was good in coverage all game. Made a good play on the ball on that INT. showed his speed and range.

yea, they know just as much as Kiper and all those weird analysts, its just for entertainment and fun. Every year the draft has it's surprises. look at how Lamar Miller fell. someone could have used him.

Everyone was so high on the guard that went to Pitt, Decastro?
everyone but the teams doing the drafting!

Well dudes, I would've been serioulsy livid if the BEngals would've taken Doug Martin in the first last year so I've been wrong on more than one occasion (to my credit I also loved Vick Ballard as a mid round back...but also LaMarr Miller in the 2nd).

No offense man, but I am glad you are not our talent scout either. He looked bad in that game. Constantly found himself out of position, couldn't shed blocks, always seemed a step or two out of coverage. The INT was due to the QB lobbing that ball out there instead of throwing a dart. Cy would have been two steps behind the play had it been thrown harder and got burnt for a TD. Instead the QB lofts it when the guy is open by 20 yards and gives Cy just enough time to get in position.

Taylor Mays is all over the field too, but i is because he missed his coverage, couldn't shed a block, went for the knock out blow, the guy stayed on his feet and he had to get back up and chase him down. Reminds me a lot of Cy in that video.

Thank you for reconfirming, I want nothing to do with him based on one senior bowl.

Sorry Crash, but you're wrong on this one. People who were at the Senior Bowl and talked to NFL scouts said the guy is very impressive and that after going back and watching tape, he jumped off the film.

Mike Mayock being one of them.

At this point in time in 2011 he had Cam going in the second round. Why does anything he say THIS January matter?

Not to mention the fact that Mayock gets credit for being a top qb scout and his favorite quarterbacks two years ago were Blaine Gabbert and Andy Dalton. LOL!

He looked impressive in the Senior bowl, yes. But once again, that is one game, just like the Louisville game was one game also. I am not going to say he is good or bad based off one game. However, I am sure Tubbs could have found a much more impressive game tape than the Louisville game. He did not look good in that game. Watch the vido. Watch how many times he puts himself out of a play by the routes he takes to the ball carrier. He is a MUCH BETTER cover safety than a tackling run stopping safety. At least from what i ca tell in that video.

Also, he needs to stop the damn knock out blows and wrap up. Every defensive back in college and the NFL should take the Leon Hall approach to tackling. He never goes for the knock out blow, but situates himself to grab the ball carrier, pull him down, and not lose the tackle. Very rarely does Leon Hall not get his hands on a guy only to let him get past him. He is the best example of a tackling DB I have ever seen.

1) Guys do not get killed..

2) He makes sure he doesn't lose control of the ball carrier incase they bounce off the tackle.

He has speed and range, I will give him that, but he did take himself out of a few plays, and mde up for a couple due to his speed because of a mistake by the QB.

I am starting to think an Elam would be a better fit for us with us having Reggie Nelson under contract. We need a SS who can cover a bit, but is a good in the box tackler.

So while I have seen Cy in one (my opinion) bad game (Louisville), and one good game (Senior Bowl), I think he falls somewhere inbetween those which would put him around a 3rd round pick. He is teachable. One thing you can't teach is speed. Be interesting to see where he winds up after the combine, but right now, whether you think I am wrong or not, I label him a 3rd to maybe 4th round pick.

If you don't like my opinion, that is completely cool. Mayock is allowed to disagree with me too.

No one's talking about what happened at the Senior Bowl, we're talking about his play in that video and from that video he looks like the 5th round pick he was projected to be before he arrived in Mobile.

I completely disagree. He is all over the field, great in coverage, made a great break on the INT, showing his great range. He could use come work tackling but we need a coverage S, not an in the box safety and this dude has range.

No, I'm saying that people are saying the Senior Bowl performance made them go back and watch the tape. They loved the tape.

He was all over the field yes. I give you his range. But there is almost nothing about the rest of his game that was impressive in that viadeo, nothing. That break on the INT was late, and he would have been burnt had the QB put any heat on that throw. The WR was open by 20 yards, but due to the loft it gave Cy just enough time to get to the ball. That was his guy all the way, and if that ball had any heat on it, the WR was gone, instead of Cy barely getting his hands on it for an interception.

I am sorry, provide me with better game tape on the kid, and maybe I might agree with you, but for Gods sake, do not tell me he looks impressive from that game tape, because it just makes you look like you do not know what you are talking about.

My Mock Draft 2.0

I can see the Bengals going LB with the 1st pick but with Ogletree and Te'o most likely off the board, Steelers and Giants respectively, the Bengals opt for the best player available.
