That the games we play on September 23-25 are meanful for us ........
Sounds good to me. As a Bay Area sports fan, I think that all we can ever hope for is that the last few games of the regular season are meaningful (barring having already clinched the playoffs, or course). That mentality is the main thing that separates us from the East Coast. That, and a lot of farmland, desert, mountains and lakes.
I'm actually native to the east coast (NY) and you're right in your assessment. Most Yankee fans would want to clinch by July therefore making all subsequent games meaningless. God, I hate the Yankees! I'll be happy with whatever the outcome is. Just a little disappointing watching a pitching staff of our caliber getting next to no run support. Pretty tough when you need to just about sweep the DBacks at this stage of the season to stay in the race.
