I would agree its the weakest division in the NFC , but New England- IMO- has had a free pass to the playoffs since Brady. The Jets have made some noise a few of those yrs but not enough. The AFC Central is pretty weak as well.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. That's why the South Champs the last couple years have gotten slammed hard in the playoffs by the Patriots.

but "normally" the NFC East is one of the better divisions in football ...... sadly it is quite possibly the weakest in football now and has been for what 3 years now?

I would agree its the weakest in NFC- . AFC included- I would rank it ahead of EAST and Central . Its fairly even with the other 2 IMO

I would have to say that, in all reality, the best team in the AFC South in the last few years hasn't really been any better than what the NFC East has had.

The NFC East has had mediocre teams but two or three of them which made the division more competitive. The AFC South has had one mediocre team and three really bad teams, making the mediocre division winner look better than they really were.

The proof being when they play teams like New England. Over the last two years, the Patriots have had three games against the eventual South winner. Two against Houston in 2012. One against the Colts in 2013.

The Patriots won all three by the combined score of 126-64.

my only rebuttal would be
5 of the Cowboys 8 wins last year came from inside this division.

I would tend to agree with this for the most part with exception of 2011 Texans and 2012 Texans. 2011 was when Shaub got hurt so that derailed you that yr. 2012 I thought you were the best team in AFC for the most part.
I think the NFC East is obviously defensively challenged, however the QBs are dangerous.

Texans and Cowboys could be an interesting game this year.

We feel real good about our D but our offense has us losing sleep at night.

You guys have another dangerous offense but your defense has you terrified on the edge of your seats.

Yep the Pack had started out 2-2, maybe 2-3. There were questions about Rodgers and his WRs getting along. Before the game, he had an interview with Al Michaels and said as calm as ever that they were fine. I thought yep until tomorrow after you get your ass whipped again. I was so wrong on that one.
