Who is the Most Valuable Player on the Husker's offense through 4 games this season?

A) Taylor Martinez

B) Rex Burkhead

The reason I have to go with Taylor is because we wouldn't be where we are at without him right now..........and that is very unfortunate that we are in that position, but that is where we are at.

In defense of Rexy, we really didn't use him right the 1st 3 games.

Rex is very good.........it's just that the offense is basically designed around Taylor. Our success comes from whatever we do to counter the plan that the opposing team comes in with to stop Taylor from running all over the place.

How so? We were 4-0 last year at this time and Taylor was a frosh. Taylor has looked like a lost puppy at times this year. Defenses have to respect our stable of running backs. It appears Carnes is the better option qb and with our running backs, theres no reason to think we would be any less than 4-0. It's certain if Carnes started there wouldn't be the 3 and outs with 2 seconds off the clock after 3 straight incompletions that has happened with Taylor. Either qb and we're still 4-0.

Where there might be a difference is when we play teams like Wisky. Carnes would prolly be overwhelmed if he had to start against them.

Oh man.........I have to disagree. Against Fresno State, Taylor Martinez accounted for 385 of our 438 yards.........and pretty much all of them were do to the fact that Fresno had to account for his legs.

I really think we lose that game with Brion starting, but it's hard saying at this point. We were trailing for much of that game.

the pass opens up because of taylor's legs when taylor is in the game. when brion is in the game the run would open up because of his arm....so...

i know that one play in the spring game when he hit jamal perfectly in stride. granted that is one throw, and it was in the spring game....but he looked very comfortable in the pocket, unlike taylor. and its know that brion is a better pocket passer....like...everyone knows that....so excuuuuuseeeee meeeeeeeeeee.

Doesn't mean he couldn't do good if he was the starting qb, but it's ridiculous to laud a guys arm when he's never done it while bashing the guy you don't like.
