This song doesn't work at all on a bad soundsystem but I find myself liking it a lot when listening to it with the volume up on good speakers. The track generally reminds me of the first time I heard 'Starf***ers Inc and The Hand That Feeds. Its made for the radio and good for what it is but probably not one of the better NIN songs on the album. Hopefully. Not the best, not the greatest.... but I like when Trent gets his haunted, sexuality and electronic thing on. NIN atmospheric stuff for when the mood is right. Atleast NIN is not on permanent hiatus, thank God and Goddess.
Its definitely a hybrid of metal with something more Smashing Pumpkins or Out Hud. If you know who Out Hud is btw, you're a hipsterYeah, Clayton, the critics LOVE that album. Read a few breathless reviews when it was coming out.
And I like it OK, its good, but I can't help but think there is just something too "hipster" about it. Seems like it was made by guys in skinny jeans and ironic glasses, and I can't help but think.....I don't even know how to put it. Like its pop musicians who thought it would be fun to make a metal album. The lead singer says he's a huge Emperor fan, maybe he's not lying......but I am suspicious about them!
