This is what I'm talkin' about.

The new ones just don't do anything for me for some reason. If I had an old muscle car like that Charger, I'd probably use it as my daily driver.

Yeah, I think most people like the new designs and technology, I'm just in the minority.
Phoenix, I would think, would have a lot of rust free cars.

I like some of the tech but not all. Call me old school, a crumudgon, whatever.
I like cooled seats, I like nav, I like bluetooth and backup cameras.
I don't like the lane guidance, collision avoidance, radar cruise, or electric steering.
All that fucking shit that controls how I drive.

Fucking insistantly.
If I wanted my mother in the backseat at all times I would go get her complaining ass. Some bitch with a fat whining ass is hiding in the dash of the Grand Cherokee we bought last Feb. My wife can make friends with her and maybe they can both go share periods, I'll drive the 15 year old Explorer that has high tech air conditioning and Rain X on the windshield.

Looking back on my rehab of that '89 Grand Wagoneer, it was quite complicated and a hassle. Of course, I didn't realize what a hassle it was until owning this '73 Mustang Convertible for the last year as a daily driver. The car is so simple, getting it in daily driver condition was nothing.

I added a new a/c system and overhauled the suspension and gave it a tune-up. That's it! Sure, I put new rims and tires on that old broad, but didn't have to. It's completely reliable...would drive it anywhere tomorrow. It drives just like a boring Camry or whatever, but it's a classic.
This morning I walked out into the garage and hit the ignition and she instantly fires like every other day. I hit the top down button and 20 seconds later was backing out in style. You just can't get that for $10k any other way but a common classic.

I think most people like the 67-69 Camaro's best, but this was always my favorite year.

I always loved the C3 Generation of Corvettes. Not real popular now days and you'll probably lose your ass in a resto project. Slow - like everything else back then but beautiful to look at. Call me crazy but I'll take one over a C6/C7 any day. Probably one of few Chevy's I would actually own

Always thought the 1962 Catalina 2+2 was especially good looking.
Came with the 389 but some got the 421 Super Duty.



The 421 could be had with a dual quad set up.
Two 500cfm Carter 4bbls.
Rated at 405 HP but was closer to 460 horsepower.
Had 11:1 and 12:1 compression depending which head it had on it.

Another overlooked personal favorite of mine is the 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix.
Could be had with a 390hp 428HO engine and even a 4spd manual transmission.
It was capable of beating a GTO of the same year.



Just a really stud car.

Had a friend in High School that would get to drive his mom's car sometimes.
I think it was a 1971 Mercury Comet.
Had a 302 in it. Was a compact car for it's time.
It would get up and move pretty good.
Good times driving around in that thing at 16 years old.

I remember wanting my dad to buy a 1972 Vega so we (he and I!!!) could drop a 327 into it.

He looked at me like I was an idiot.

Which of course I was.

I used to like taking the cover off the air cleaner in my parent's 1969 Pontiac Safari Estate wagon that had a 455. He looked at me like I was an idiot then too.

There are very few cars (aside from for sales value) that I would trade even up for my 10 year old S55 AMG Benz. Certainly very few from that era, again other than for sales value. Cause then I could by 2 or 3 S55 AMG Benzs that were 10 years old. Maybe an S65 with the Supercharged V-12...

Cars that don't shy away from corners... But are fast as fuck with 4 doors.

No offense meant to lovers of muscle cars.

The dad of a friend of mine when I was a kid had a brand new 1971 Gran Torino Sport.
Think it had a 351 in it.
Seemed really fast but being a kid I couldn't really tell you.

A friend of mine had a blue one of those. He had a fire in the front seat so he removed the whole thing and secured a big block of wood (a hunk of 12 x 12) to the floor and sat on that.

He wrecked it 2 weeks later cause he fell off his seat on a corner, lost control and ended up upside down in a ditch after hitting a telephone pole.

He walked away with only a bump on his forehead from where he smacked his noggin' on the steering wheel.
