Can’t really compare baseball to football though. But I’ll try to use an analogy. Say the Seahawks are 2-2, have an obvious hole that they need filled and have struck out on every single attempt to fill that hole, what is your confidence level that magically the next trade will work out? Especially considering their top guy to trade is now on the roster and IMO the other two guys to trade for a significant bat are untradable. No question the Mariners are built for a playoff series but offensively they are not built to get there.

All I'm saying is that as much as the team isn't performing up to preseason expectation it's also not "the same old Mariners" either.

The pitching has been great, but will it sustain?

That bats have underwhelmed, but will that turn?

Jerry will make another big move, but will he?

These are all valid concerns and only the season will tell, I'm just staying positive within the first quarter even though I cuss out my tv every night lol

I can see your point, but the same old Mariners kind of still applies. The team has consistently needed one thing, a bat. The pitching over the what 15 years has been from above average to great.

Your first one is the most concerning because that hasn’t been a thing for the club since Cano.

Your second one is yes, they have a ton of pitching talent.

He may, but I don’t trust Jerry at all to make a big splash because the team needs Cole Young for the future. They traded the future middle infield last year and IMO can’t do that two years in a row unless they get a bonafide superstar.

It seems odd that they moved Julio down to 6th for like a game then put him into the most important spot in the lineup. I like him batting third but not like this. Instead of being moved down in the lineup they promoted him to a more important spot in the lineup. I don't get this team sometimes.

Honestly, I'm not even sweating this series. It's over. Pitching had back to back terrible days and I don't think that will happen often. I'm not doom and gloom guy. But for the love of Jobu's rum stop comparing this to last year lol..
