Nope. I thought they'd lose tonight in fact. Doesn't change that the M's had chances and blew most of them. 2nd and 3rd and no outs in the 5th and nothing. Runner on 3rd with 1 out in the 6th, and Cruz GIDP's. Hanger makes a diving catch, and yes I realize it was a difficult play, but he has the ball in the pocket and lets it squirt out giving the Astros 3 runs. I don't care how good the Astros might be, the Mariners could have won this game, or at the very least be in the lead right now.

Agreed (as long as they're swinging at strikes anyway), that said after catching a replay of that final strike it was low. I don't know who that umpire was, but good god did he have an awful night.

I had friends over for the Bellator PPV so I only got to see a small amount of the game. Even in the limited amount I got to watch it seemed like we squandered opportunities all night. That being said, there's a silver lining. I managed to see the last inning, and even in a blunder of an outing this team proves once again that they are never out of it, never giving up until the last out. It's 162 games, games with missed opportunities will happen and always possible against the best of the best. It's how they rebound today, if we win that's a series against the best. Take it and look to sweep the Phillies.

Big games are decided on the big plays. They made them and we didn't. That can't happen if you want to be the team. One change I would make is putting Haniger at 1B and going back to our speed defense. I watched Haniger takes some baffling routes to balls before he got hurt and this drop was the second I have seen he do since starting the season. That catch has to be made. I think he could make a good 1B and he has the bat for it. More importantly, our OF defense was at its best when we had the 3 Amebas out there.
