Well I'll way this he looked good for first start since injury. He went 6 innings gave up 3 earned on 8 hits. 6 K's and 1 walk. 2 solo homers.

The offense really stole the show though. They punched Musgrove right in the mouth!

Shit Gallardo even picked up the 3 inning save.

To your first point. And that was against the Astros, the best team in baseball. Pretty encouraging.

To your second point. I have to say, I really liked seeing Gallardo in this spot. For some reason I just felt like he had more confidence coming into a game to conserve a lead rather than start a game where it's on him to set the tone. Keep an eye on his production there, he may go from turd to stud.

Honestly I was happy taking one BEFORE we played the Astros since the rest of our schedule to the AS break is pretty light in terms of matchups. If we win the series.... I'm ecstatic. If we can just get another pitcher and some health on the starters we MIGHT be able to at least end the team with the longest playoff drought in the MLB.

Ms lineup with Gamel/Haniger at the moment and Zunino POSSIBLY finding 'it' is easily top 5 in league.

Going to be tough with McCullers tonight, though. Nearly a sub 1 WHIP. Bleh. Maybe he's overdue to get rocked lol.

The Mariners are swinging at waaaay too many pitches outside the strike zone. Doesn't help that Haniger should have walked and the dumbass ump called an obvious ball a strike. Gaviglio is trying to paint way too much and it's hurting him. You could tell it wasn't gonna be long before he gave something up.
