What ticks me off is we basically cleaned house, did a major rebuild, brought in youth, took 3 steps back to take 5 steps forward in the future, it was working, M’s ended there long playoff drought, future looked bright… Until it didn’t and we blew it all up again … $@@&@ franchise always goes cheap

Problem with saying it’s all about being cheap is there has been “cheap” FA in 23 and 24. It just seems like they have chosen wrong on which cheap fixes they wanted.

Can’t blame them for Polanco really but next time Jerry wants to trade for a 2B someone needs to step in and say no

I appreciate Cal as well, but he stopped short of telling us the answer. He pointed out the obvious, but the why has never been answered. Are they all just shit for players or is there a philosophical issue on this team? No accountability? Pushing too hard to all get along? I want to know the answering not just have the question repeated.

But I do give him credit for speaking out. Nobody else will not even the $400M man. Maybe that is the problem. Jealousy.

I do. After the 2019 season, he had a career .280 average.

Since 2020, he has hit .248. Even if you take out this season, he was at .256 from 2020-2023. a 24 point drop. Add the Seattle factor and it should be no surprise he pulled a Wong/Frazier. Need to acquire a guy on the upswing for once. This had train-wreck written all over it.

I said it during the off-season, but I've never seen a team do a rebuild, have the top rated farm system, then blow it up within 3 years of all your top guys making the majors. Still makes no sense.
