I know shifting is still controversial, but saving 2.5 runs per 100 balls in play is pretty nifty.

I'm pretty sure it's just the ones saved via the shift without trying to factor in if fielders had stayed in proper positions, whatever that means.Do they subtract the runs scored that would of been outs if not in the shift or do they just count runs saved if hit into shift?
I'd rather see hitters make adjustments to make it less relevant, personally.I've got to be honest... I hate the shift... I hope baseball figures out a way to make the shift irrelevant... Hope the new strike zone helps...

I don't like it because I've watched my daughter's last two soft ball games and their coach had implemented the shift... The other team exposed it to a "T"... My concern is that baseball is sending this message to the rest of the world that this is ok... It's horrible for baseball, which is why I hope they figure out a way to get rid of it...
