You appear to just want to attack and belittle rather than discuss.

Get over yourself. Not everyone is going to agree with you all the time. You don't get to claim that others opinions are wrong. They are opinions ffs.

They didn't bolster one of the worst batting lineups in the AL. Neither of those are opinion, they are fact. What it may mean going forward is very much opinion and I don't owe you anything for seeing it differently than you do.

If they can stay healthy they have a decent chance, but why should anyone blindly believe they will stay healthy when they have had so many injuries from their most key players this year?

I'm not exactly alone in being disappointed. Chuck Powell and a number of very knowledgeable baseball folks have been saying as much.

They could have done more and I'm disappointed they didn't. It appears for some reason that really angers you.

First 47 MLB games: 173 ABs, 33 runs, 12 HR, 31 RBI, .329 BA.
Hell of a start, but he could not sustain it. The league pitchers made an adjustment against him that he has not yet counter-adjusted to.
Last 80 MLB games: 281 ABs, 35 runs, 13 HR, 26 RBI, .199 BA.
And the guy is no spring chicken. He's only been in 127 MLB games but he is already 27 years old.
Sorry, but I'm not a believer in Lewis. In the fans' hearts, he is still that guy that rode a dominant first 29 games of 2020 to the RoY. But, Lewis hasn't been that guy for two years now.

Most of the playoff bound teams added more than one piece and in general went after improving their weakest aspects of their team to go for it.

M's added one of the top pitchers available, however they only play once every 5 games and it is probably Kirby being replaced. He's an upgrade and a hell of an insurance policy against injury, but Kirby is not exactly garbage.

They could have had a more impactful trade with an every day player that could upgrade them in some of their most lousy batting slots.

There is no doubt they may have enough to get there anyway. It would have just been better to increase those odds.

Look, the deadline has come and gone and we have the team we are going to have. It's time to buckle up, hope for the best , and hopefully enjoy the ride.

Correct. We have one of the strongest rotations in baseball but the offense will not stack up against most of the other teams in the playoffs. Even with Haniger returning, it still is lagging. And Kyle Lewis? You can't put much stock in him. His first 30 games in 2020 were great. But his last 30 games that year and everything since has been severely lacking. And Kelenic will never have greater trade value than he has right now. They should have moved him for a left fielder or second baseman. Those are the two biggest glares in our offense.

Putting him the package for Soto would’ve been ideal. Soto and Bell would’ve made the Mariners better than adding Soto and a couple of scrubs. Jerry gets great credit for adding an ace, but another goal should’ve been to not allow Moore or Toro to ever take a meaningful AB the rest of the year.
