And that is that. Mariners likely to be 3 and 6 after tonight. so the big question is going to be.Will they even get to .500 before April is done.

Switching to the guardians game. Maybe one of my teams can get to .500 lol.

So should we start a new thread on seeing what we can trade away at the deadline? Julio for 3 pieces? Castillo for a bat? Garver for a shiny new belt buckle? JP for the belt?

well, first things first. we're fresh out of managers and hitting coaches to blame and fire, so my bet is that jerry is gonzo if the team can't get above .500 consistently by mid-may. given how many everyday players in our lineup aren't even hitting .200, maybe sooner.

owners won't trade julio unless a team eats all of his salary. literally all they care about, and no team is going to give up much for him if they have to eat all of his salary, too. owners will start putting out feelers about "rebuilding" in press releases pretty soon, and that's all they need to justify prioritizing salary recoup vs acquiring pieces that could make the club better. after all, we have the best farm in mlb....that's what they'll be going with.

i'm just waiting for the day when they finally release garver....the amount of intestinal discomfort that will cause stanton and the rest of the creeps is one of the few things that brings me any potential joy with this club. the longer they don't do it, the longer they prove that every single thing i've said about them and this pathetic club is right.

i could see castillo and one other starter going in some sort of idiotic trade that owners will approve. can't wait.

outside of idiot seattle fans, there isn't a baseball fan in america who doesn't see that these owners don't prioritize winning and what guides the type of scum they'll hire to replace jerry. it would be hard to respect any replacement at all who would be willing to come here and deal with that level of indifference. i'm rapidly losing respect for dan and edgar for taking part in the scheme.

That's a steep price for Garver and JP. At best you might net a half eaten hotdog.

Negative they will not hit . 500 probably until between Memorial Day and end of July.

They’ll put together a real good 30 to 40 game stretch during that timeframe where they do climb above the .500 threshold

Then, as we all know, they will fall back into the abyss of bad play and anemic run production

I think we should just DFA our chunky first basemen, the savings on the teams food bill would be substantial.

Just how is it the entire rest of Major league baseball can find a player throughout the league who is a little slow on their feet, but has some pop in their back to justify having them at first base for the offensive production.

Yet the pitiful Seattle Mariners fail at this simple task, since their inception in 1977 practically

looking at what you said about 1B, honestly, this is rock bottom for the mariners when it comes to defense overall, and that's what's really so sad about this whole situation. we've usually had 2 of the 3 components of a team (pitching., offense, defense) as pretty solid or at least above average. now we're fucking NOWHERE.

having a strong infield has always been a priorty for the team, from the days of the slick as snot kingdome turf and even through the end of the steroid era when it became smart for the m's to heavily build around pitching due to safeco/tmobile. it still DOES make sense to heavily heavily prioritize pitching since so many games are in this park.

but now it's literally all we have. defense has become almost as irrelevant as offense. the corners are a joke, and a middle infield that is competent but nothing special at all defensively, and a total joke offensively.

pitching was never going to equal the generational performance they had last year. defense is objectively much worse. offense is pretty much the same or maybe even worse.

how the fuck is this even possible? how can dan wilson or edgar martinez even attach their names to this miserable shit?
