Love the Shelton move!! He is under control for another year also. A big, strong dude who is great vs the run and will demand a double team at times. He is going to add some toughness to a DL that had none last yr. Now we can move Brown and Guy to outside more and let Danny line up over the C. Great move and it solves a need and we don't have to draft a DL this yr.

Next move??? Solder and LB...I am thinking Avery Williamson or Brown. It will depend on what happens with Solder...

Jags are making Andrew Norwell the highest paid OL in the league $13.3m per. Probably gonna take at least 14 per to keep Nate now.

Solder is priority...unless Dante has his eye on a hidden gem in the draft.

I still think Solder is utmost importance this year.

Sounds like the Texans, Browns, and Patriots have all gotten into a big bidding war for his services. When there are so few even average tackles hitting the market his price is going to be off the charts.

Word right now is that the Browns have the inside track on Nate Solder and are waiting for Joe Staley to announce his retirement. No official word but it's rumored that the Browns have offered 4 years at $62M
with $40M guaranteed. That's $15.5M a year with $10M of in his pocket. If this is true, the Patriots will not match it. I could see BB offering him $44M with maybe $28M guaranteed. No way Solder can turn down that kind of money.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- With cornerback Malcolm Butler intending to join the Tennessee Titans on a five-year, $61 million contract with $30 million in bonuses/guarantees, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, there are a few trickle-down effects:

1. A contract at that level will position the New England Patriots for a possible high compensatory draft choice in 2019. If it ends up being a third-rounder, which is the highest possible, that will be an important chip for them to preserve in their decision-making process this offseason (the compensatory formula is complex and takes into account the net loss of compensatory free agents, among other things). The Patriots already agreed to give up their 2019 third-round draft pick in the trade to acquire defensive tackle Danny Shelton, and this would replenish that pick.

2. The idea of Butler returning to the Patriots after what unfolded in Super Bowl LII -- when he didn't play a defensive snap -- was far-fetched. That decision by Bill Belichick, which the coach said was a result of him putting the players and game plan on the field that he believed gave the Patriots the best chance to win, remains a hot-button topic among part of the team's fan base because it was unconventional. In essence, Belichick decided that safety Jordan Richards (first half) and cornerback Johnson Bademosi (second half) gave the Patriots a better chance to win as the sixth defensive back in the dime package over Butler, who had played 98 percent of the defensive snaps in the regular season. My opinion: Something still doesn't completely add up.

3. The Patriots visit the Titans in 2018, which means they'll be going up against the Super Bowl XLIX hero in his first season in Tennessee.

4. New England's current cornerback depth chart is headlined by Stephon Gilmore, Eric Rowe, Jonathan Jones, Cyrus Jones, Ryan Lewis and Jomal Wiltz. There is still the possibility of an addition, most likely to come from what is considered a strong draft class.

5. Tennessee is a great spot for Butler, and he will have a good chance to thrive. The presence of former Patriots linebacker Mike Vrabel as a first-year head coach, coupled with former Patriots cornerback Logan Ryan in the defensive backfield, is one of the best things that could have happened to Butler.

6. Butler earned everything he has coming to him. He'll forever be revered in New England for saving Super Bowl XLIX.

Solder is not taking any visits, so that is a good thing. I hope BB is letting guys walk so he can sign Nate.

Pats are interest in LB/Core ST guy Paul Warlow. I think this might be to replace Marquis Flowers who is getting a lot of looks and many don't think BB will match it.

Ebner is back on a 2 yr deal...that's cool.

Not sure i see Jordy here in NE. He's gonna get paid with the way this market is for WR.

I'm guessing you meant Joe Thomas not Staley but he will retire soonish as well.

Harmon was bringing in 58 grams in a soda can. Not 58 kilos, not 58 lbs.

58 grams = 2.04 oz.

I don't smoke the stuff. What's 2.04 oz? Two cigarettes??

They didn't charge him, they deported him back to the U.S.

Maybe the U.S. should start doing the same to Caribbean criminals in the U.S.

Word. Like he couldn't've just bought some weed when he got to Costa Rica?

Worst of all now we're likely gonna be subjected to multiple games of Jordan Richards monkey fucking his way around the field while Harmon is in the Goodell Penalty Box.

As a person who used to smoke weed AND live in the Caribbean(St Kitts) I gotta say this one is a head scratcher. There is weed literally EVERYWHERE in the Caribbean. All the islands. Everywhere.

Weird he would take that chance.

Like I said, I never smoked the stuff. That picture looks like a half pound to me. I have no idea. Is that stuff that light? I heard of a dime bag and thought that meant like a sandwich bag that was maybe 1/3 full.

How big is a friggin' kilo?? A case of cereal boxes???

I was way off too. I knew it was more than 2 joints. Figured closer to 30. It’s actually over 100. How big of a pop can did he try to hide it in? :noidea:
