While I like both of those, MP was better for me in small scenes.

But no one is better at making comedies than Mel Brooks. Young Frankenstein, History of the World and Men in Tights, Blazing Saddles...

Second half of the movie ruined the first half for me. It was intense though.

I liked Biloxi Blues for a good boot camp movie.
