Most improved defense this year?

Allen replaced Peppers in Chicago. But they did sign my boy Willie Young.

Mostly just looking at how horrible those defenses were last year and looking at how they have at least added a couple pieces each. They can't be any worse at least so fair to think they are going to improve by quite a bit.

The Bears were bound to improve defensively just from people recovering from injuries. Only 4 guys started all 16 games, and two played through noticeable injuries. The only two healthy starters were James Anderson and Chris Conte, and I think I speak for most Bears fans when I say I wish they were backups.

And yes, they did upgrade a lot. Allen plus Houston are so much better than an aged, ineffective Peppers with Shea. Plus, Kyle Fuller can play nickel and make it so our safeties are much less important. Right there, we just corrected our biggest weaknesses.

The 1986 Bears defense was statistically better than the 1985 defense. They gave up 11 fewer points than 1985 with a lot less offensive support and more offensive turnovers. It's just that the team had worse offensive and a bad playoff game.

Naw, I'm just playing. I do think the pass rush is going to be better. It took about half the season for Bennett and Avril to find their roles, now they're established. I also the like the potential on the inside with Marsh and Hill.

As far as a real pick for the OP, Oakland. Mack is going to be a stud with some good versatile linemen around and decent depth.

I think 2 teams from the same division may be in this discussion.

1) Denver - Great off-season;
2) Chargers - Only real weakness was pass defense. So, we added the best ball skills CB in Jason Verrett in the draft and we added pro bowl CB Brandon Flowers.

I hope you are right, but we also need to clean up on giving away too many 3rd down conversions.

Mack might be good but he put Brady on his sack list. Not easy to put the best QB on his feet down. Dude ran a 6.9 40 nobody touching him

This is true... 86 Bears D just didn't get the credit as the year prior ... BUT they were still bad aZZ
