Correct! 212.1 IP, 326 Ks. Just beat out Pedro who had 312 in 213 IP.
That says as much about the current era of hitters not caring about striking out as it does the pitchers. Pedro's feat seems more impressive to me, during the steroid era to boot.

Yeah the strikeouts per 9 innings has got to be the highest ever. Especially with these guys that come in and throw as hard as they can for 5 or 6 innings.

On the other hand Cole was 4th in MLB innings pitched in '19. Pedro was 20th in that category in '99. You need to be throw more innings than almost everyone to have any shot at approaching 300 now. Strider could realistically do it in under 200 innings - he would still probably be top 10 in innings if he did. Pedro had to work with a strike zone that was not above the belt, for that reason I say what he did was more impressive.

Which lefty pitcher has the most career wins? And which pitcher was first to get 300 wins?

The lefty with the most wins is Warren Spahn. Cy Young was the first to 300 wins.

Damn I just looked him up. Between 1883 and 1884 he pitched 1292 innings. Basically Jacob Dagrom's whole freaking career so far.
And was dead before the AL had its second season.

Also drank monkey testosterone smoothies. (Just read his wiki)

I cheated because I had no idea. It is amazing to me that only 56 active players have 1000 or more hits and only 5 have 2000 or more.
The guy with most hits as a righty really blew me away.

This has to be a some sort of statistical low point. Decades, if not the last two centuries.

I don’t really want to tackle when the last time the number was so low, or when the holder was more unimpressive. But I’d love it if somebody else did. Lol

Hint that won’t help:

The guys has picked up 100 hits for a single team in a season once since 2020.

Hint that might help:

He’s the active leader in steals.
